Unnamed Road, 300 06, Astakos
Been here?
4x4 access only
Getting here needs an off-road vehicle. Check your ground clearance before setting off.
A beautiful secluded bay with clear water and excellent off-season views, but the access road is very rough and may require 4x4, especially after rain. The beach can be crowded with loud music and generators in high season, while the abandoned bar’s showers are currently out of service. There is weak 4G, scattered rubbish, and a persistent wasp problem. A nearby fish farm is reported as a potential MRSA hazard.

Warning: the nearby fish farm is a breeding ground for MRSA, which can cause very difficult-to-treat infections from even the smallest scratch that may not heal for weeks despite various antibiotic ointments.Translating
Dreamlike cove, although the descent is very bumpy. Above the cove everything is deserted and neglected. But the cove itself is stunning... deserted now, but so wonderfully beautiful.Translating
Dreamlike in the off-season. Easy enough with a 6-meter camper without four-wheel drive but with all-terrain tires. It could be critical in the rain. Weak 4G. Unfortunately, people keep leaving their rubbish behind. What a shame!Translating
Everything has already been described; after the heavy rainfall, the road is badly eroded. You should have a 4x4 for the uphill return journey!Translating
We did not like the place and did not stay. Because of the bushes, there are only occasional views of the bay; drone footage looks much better than it does from the ground. There is lots of rubbish, remnants of the bar, and permanent caravans/tents apparently used by locals in summer. The spots 4 km north are much better and more beautiful in autumn.Translating
A great spot at the beginning of October! Clear water and relatively clean. The showers at the abandoned beach bar are shut off, but it is very quiet here. Access was easy with a T4, but in the rain I think it would be slippery and problematic without four-wheel drive, even though the gravel road is not very steep.Translating
A wonderful spot in mid-September, no wasps, a few other vans, the beach almost empty, and the bar already closed. Dreamlike sea views, great for staying a while; the road is no problem when dry.Translating
We were here in mid-August. Loud music from the bar, a noisy generator, and completely overcrowded.Translating
Very crowded, with lots of cars and people. Loud music. Absolutely avoid it in August.Translating
Beach crowded, bar with loud music. We did not stay. Certainly perfect out of season.Translating
There is only half of the beach private. The second half is still free. We spent 3 wonderful days alone in high season
There is now a private beach... =( The spot must be great out of season =)Translating
Wonderful place! We had the entire bay to ourselves and nobody came by. It was also great for kayaking as beginners; the waves were calm and the water beautifully clear. When the ground is dry, the road should also be accessible with a normal camper.Translating
Very beautiful place. I stayed here for four nights with only one other van. Occasionally a few people come to fish. Four-wheel drive is not absolutely necessary. Only the height is limited by branches.Translating
Height restriction due to low branches, up to 2.5 meters.Translating
Magnificent. The road, wide enough for a van, is completely manageable without four-wheel drive, which means the area is busier. In case of rain, I would hesitate. Quiet place. The beach was clean and the water crystal clear. Many trees, great if you do not like roasting in the sun. The parking area is less attractive, with remnants of shelters and litter, and there are no toilets.Translating
Many thanks to the person who created this entry on P4N! We enjoyed the wonderful spot! At the beginning of October there were no wasps, but there were dolphins in the bay.Translating
It would deserve five stars for the sea and location if it were not full of all kinds of rubbish in the vegetation. There are also lots of wasps; they do not sting but constantly buzz around your head. Dirt road, but manageable without four-wheel drive and with standard tires in a minivan up to 6 meters. No facilities at all. PLEASE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU!!!Translating
Super beautiful spot at the beginning of the season!Translating
Quite littered. Wasps are a real problem. Access possible with all-terrain tires and a panel van. No four-wheel drive necessary.Translating
