Been here?
Camping Montpellier Plage sits 50m from the Mediterranean beach near Palavas, 4km from town. It offers a pool, mini-market, and pizza bar. Large pitches sit on unstable soil with unclear delimiters; road noise is noticeable. Recent visitors report staff can be unhelpful and advertised shaded spots remain unavailable during peak heat. Facilities are clean; typical cost €24–26.

We requested a shaded pitch during a severe heatwave, but were given a pitch in full sun with no trees because there were no shaded spaces (false advertising). The staff were very unpleasant and worked like an assembly line; they want to increase turnover and do not listen to customers. I am very disappointed and will not return. In addition, the toilets are filthy. Absolutely avoid this campsite.
Very large site, clean sanitary facilities. The beach is about 500 m from the motorhome pitches. Beautiful, clean pool. Unfortunately, the road noise is intense.
I saw on the website that dogs are not allowed. Could you please change the symbols?
Currently a very quiet campsite. The pool is very nice, and in the low season it is wonderfully empty. The price of €26 is unbeatable if you come from Italy and want comparable facilities. Very close to the sea, with a wonderful sandy beach. The restaurant and shop are very basic but sufficient for a camper.
Very large campsite, unstable ground, pitches not delimited, very poorly maintained, reasonable price.
We had a very good stay, with a warm welcome, renovated pool, excellent activities led by Rico, and the beach opposite. Suitable pitches, a beautiful little town, children enjoy it, and the sanitary facilities are clean at times, especially depending on the campers. In any case, thank you all; see you next year.
Filthy and ugly.
Very well-equipped and secure campsite. Very beautiful pool. Very welcoming staff.
Very friendly welcome. Very beautiful campsite. Superb pool with a swimming lane, jacuzzi, slide, and more. Beach opposite the campsite, across the road. Large pitches. Good restaurant and grocery shop with beautiful fruit and vegetables. Security guard. 1.5 km from Palavas town center. ACSI card: €20 per day for a pitch for two adults and electricity.
Very large campsite, but also very disorganized and very dark. The boundaries of the pitches are unclear and it is not easy to understand where to park. Very friendly reception staff. The bathrooms were clean. We stopped for only one night while passing through; cost €24.
Fortunately, the motorhome area in Palavas was full. Here, just under 1 km from the center and only 50 m from the gently sloping beach, we stayed on September 9 for just €24 for a motorhome, two people, electricity and a large pitch. Great pool complex. A lightly trafficked road to Palavas, ideal by bicycle. One disadvantage is the four-lane D62, which runs not far behind the site.
Nice little campsite. The staff do not speak English but were very friendly. Beautiful beach directly across the road. The shop and bistro are quite expensive. Small pool with slide (no swimming shorts allowed). There were two proper toilets. The sanitary facilities were not divided into women’s and men’s areas; they were not modern but clean. €110 for two adults and two children for two nights.
Friendly, solid, cozy, with many trees. Close to the sea, narrow beach, very crowded. Toilets without paper, but otherwise showers (at no extra cost) and everything else were perfectly fine. Montpellier is somewhat awkward to reach by bus and train. Great for children: pool with a thrilling slide! A little expensive (€47 for a van and two people).
Very cramped and uninviting site, mostly occupied by seasonal campers. The atmosphere is gloomy rather than charming. Sanitary facilities are okay, but waste disposal inside the building is awkward. Positive: the new pool complex (2025), clean and modern. If you are looking for French flair, this is the wrong place. Perhaps manageable for one night.
Great campsite in a fantastic location. The showers are a little cold. We will come back!
Great campsite, nothing to complain about.
A little under €21 with the ACSI card. Overall, about the same price as the motorhome area but with more space. Aging sanitary facilities that need a good renovation.
We are here from April 22 to April 25, 2025. The campsite has everything you need; the sanitary facilities are aging but clean. We paid €62 in total for the period with ACSI. We would choose this site again.
We arrived and the door was closed.
Since the motorhome area was full, this campsite offers a decent alternative with a pool and services for €21 with ACSI in September (motorhome and two people). The pitches are cramped and offer little privacy, but this is Palavas; you have to forget the leafy pitches of the small inland campsites. We did not feel like staying here.
Very large, with a long walk from the far end to the exit. Not easy with a dog. Sanitary facilities clean, but currently only 50 percent occupied; it closes tomorrow. Price with ACSI: €20.
A complete disaster. Extremely littered parking area; the neighbors opposite practically live on a rubbish dump. Dogs are not allowed on the beach, and there is not much walkable green space around either. I am already glad to be leaving again tomorrow.
Great place, very welcoming staff, clean toilets and showers, nothing to complain about. Very pleasant pool. I thank the staff and look forward to returning.
Dirty, noisy campsite, with a dog in the sanitary facilities. Some people listen to music without any respect for others. Avoid. On the other hand, the staff are pleasant and available.
Never again! I am not used to leaving bad reviews, but this was unavoidable. Toilets and showers in mediocre and very dirty condition! We stayed four days because we had booked, but were frankly disappointed. Police officers and gendarmes intervened. They promise a great pool, but it is tiny! Very small mini-market! The only positive points are that it is opposite the sea and close to the town center.
You can skip this! The sanitary facilities are absolutely terrible! The walk into town is recommended, but staying on the site is not. It is okay for one night.
There is a concrete-block wall along the side. I requested a change but received a negative response even though spaces were available. Sanitary facilities not clean, shower water scalding and not adjustable. To wash dishes, you have to hold the tap continuously with one hand, and the tap is tiny. Worst of all, mosquito bites from morning to evening. Pool water cloudy. We will not return.
Campsite in an excellent location near the sea, with very large pitches, but very dirty facilities.
