A free parking area at Hovdala Castle where one overnight stay with a camper is allowed. It is very quiet at night, even when several campers are present, and waste disposal is available. The castle grounds offer pleasant walking paths, including dog walks on a lead, with shade from trees. A café at the castle is also available when open.

A true haven of tranquility. The night was peaceful. Several of us were in the parking area without it being a problem, despite some inconsiderate parking! Wonderful place to walk dogs, on a leash of course. Thank you for this free and well-maintained space. Bins and recycling on site; light night lighting; no other services.
A great place to spend the night; there is a nice café at the castle and it is very quiet at night. Just one request: don't park across the parking area. Today four motorhomes parked sideways and blocked at least 15 parking spaces in total. WHY? Some spaces are long enough to park an 8-meter camper lengthwise. Small note: the four motorhomes were from four different countries.
We spent a very quiet night here with our 7.5-meter motorhome, another van and a tent. There is a place for rubbish. Everyone followed the rules. Thank you very much! Beautiful castle and lovely paths next door. Recommended spot. Many thanks to the municipality and the castle for making this possible!
A great place; but not for long, then there will be no-parking signs here too, because - people park without respecting safety and comfort distances, despite there being plenty of space - typical camping behavior is displayed - grey-water tanks are obviously leaking - vehicles such as Mercedes Vitos park without the necessary equipment All of this was observed exclusively on one day/night and only among German holidaymakers.

Good quiet place, and you can still take a walk by the castle in the evening.

At the end of September we stayed for one night in the castle parking area with four other motorhomes. Bins were available, and the surroundings were scenic and quiet, ideal for the dog. In the morning, Saturday, we had breakfast at the café and even saw a small wedding party.
