4 Stångågatan, 598 37, Vimmerby
Been here?
A large, free parking area near Vimmerby centre, with room for 9 campers and no time limit. It is suitable for an overnight stay and lies 1,4 km / 20 minutes on foot from Astrid Lindgren World. There are no services; paid restrooms are behind the town hall. The 4-hour restriction applies to the parallel car park, not this area.

Good parking spot for walking to the Astrid Lindgren Museum in 20 minutes.Translating
Your spot. Arrived around 3 p.m. and there was space.Translating
Many thanks for this free parking spot, ideal for exploring Vimmerby and spending a night. Thank you.Translating
Well located. Safe and tidy parking area with plenty of spaces. Close to Astrid Lindgren's World!Translating
Great place to spend the night for visiting the town and attractions. There are no time-limit signs. Thanks to the municipality for this lovely place.Translating
Plenty of space for 9 motorhomes. If parked tightly, 18 motorhomes would easily fit. The sign stating a 4-hour parking limit is no longer there. No services available. The toilet behind the town hall is far away and costs money. Suitable only for self-sufficient campers, or as an emergency overnight option. The place is safe and in town.Translating
Good, solid spot. We feel safe here even though it is beside the road. It will probably get noisier in the morning, as many cars also park here. However, I must correct the previous reviewer: there is no sign saying campers may park here for only 4 hours. We searched everywhere, and asking the others here confirmed it. No prohibition signs.Translating
Thanks to the town for still allowing this. We felt safe here and slept well. You can eat well very close by.Translating
Perfect place to spend the night. The museum and village are lovely for strolling. The 4-hour limit applies to the parallel car park.Translating
Surprisingly quiet at night. 1.4 km / 20 minutes on foot to Astrid Lindgren's World. Snack bar and pizza takeaway within sight.Translating
I was not there, but in my opinion the sign at the top right of the picture clearly says 4 hours. That is not enough for an overnight stay or a visit to Astrid Lindgren's World.Translating
We spent one night here in the camper. Nothing special, but quiet and spacious. So it is still a good spot for one night in 2026.Translating
nice, spacious and quiet. no toilets. 20 min to Astrids world. town was close by but not happening on a Sunday. if you have kids I'd recommend parking near the Vimarparken Lekplats. had a toilet and an amazing playground
Close to town. The Astrid Lindgren Museum and theme park are within walking distance.Translating
Thanks to the town, everything is very good and there is more than the legally required 4 metres of spacing.Translating
We spent a quiet night here and in the morning cycled 5 kilometres to Astrid Lindgren's World. Six free spaces with enough distance between them.Translating
Great for looking around the town. There are enough spaces, including for large motorhomes. You could also stay overnight, but we drove on. Everything was great!Translating
Highly recommended. A 20-minute walk to Lindgren's World, free and spacious enough. We will come back next time. No services here. There is no ban on staying overnight.Translating
Excellent parking spot for visiting the city centre.Translating
Very good motorhome stop for visiting the town. Very centrally located. We did not stay overnight.Translating
Nine large free parking spaces. Unfortunately, we arrived too late and had to find another place. Ideal for Astrid Lindgren's World. When we are nearby again, we will gladly return and try to find a free spot.Translating
Good place for visiting Vimmerby. Close to the town centre, free and spacious. The entire roadside area is now reserved for motorhomes, with a blocked-off space between each of the now nine places, ensuring sufficient distance.
Top motorhome stop. We had a quiet night. Free. Everything is within walking distance.
Free motorhome parking on asphalt, ideal for large vehicles. We were lucky with our 7.5-metre motorhome. Smaller vans can park beside it. Thanks to the operator! Astrid Lindgren's World and a Coop supermarket are within walking distance, as is the town centre with a monument, playground, mini golf, chess, table tennis, cafés and restaurants. Quiet night; we parked free again the next day. Water and waste services are about 1,000 metres away.
