Central asphalt area, no showers

Everything is available and clean. It is just a shame that there are no showers. We were able to shower in the motorhome, so it was not a problem. We would gladly come again. Best regards.

We were here in May 2026. The site is practical: lounge, toilet, electricity, fresh-water and waste facilities—everything is available. Be sure to visit the tourist information office; they are very competent. The real highlight is the lovely operator, who helped us tremendously with a problem. Thank you! Yes, a main road runs past, but we did not notice it. We would gladly come again.

One star for the friendly site operator. Otherwise, personally, I find this place a disaster! A sloping, paved parking lot directly beside a main road. I barely slept the first night, even with earplugs. I had booked two nights so I could rest for a day after the Rennsteig Run, but I ended up leaving early.

Winter price €25 plus tourist tax! I cannot comment on the sanitary facilities, but the entire site is paved and noisy beside the main road. If you are self-sufficient, keep driving. I cannot imagine what it is like in summer; you cannot even put out a camping chair here.

We stayed at this site again for two nights. Friendly owner and clean toilets. A sledding hill is within walking distance, which is very convenient for children. Full motorhome services are available. They also provided us with a room to meet other campers.

Completely excessive prices in winter. What exactly justifies charging €10 more for this place?

Super-friendly operator. The town centre is easily reachable on foot, the toilets are clean, and hiking trails are nearby. A lovely, spacious site with central service facilities.

Large, level site. It is even cleared of snow in winter. At €15 plus tourist tax, it is still fair. Fresh-water and waste facilities are available. The electricity pillars require 50-cent coins, which is difficult if you do not have change. There is a kind of club room that is heated and accessible even in winter. Waste disposal is possible.

Large, centrally located motorhome site. Oberhof, including the supermarket, restaurants, and hiking trailheads, is easily reached on foot. Very straightforward registration by phone and payment via PayPal. Very friendly operator who is available for all questions. We will definitely come again.

A fairly central, very large asphalt site. Filling and emptying works perfectly. The toilets are in very good condition and very clean. There is also a lounge. The showers were locked. We can recommend the site, but traffic noise from the main road is very loud, even at night. We were very satisfied for one night.

Convenient location, clean toilet, and full services available. There is a warm room for meetings. Using the electricity is impractical: the meter accepts only 50-cent coins, although 1 kWh costs 60 cents. It gives no change and carries the remainder over to the next kWh. You cannot pay for several kWh at once and have to keep topping up the balance.

Wonderful family-run motorhome site with extremely nice hosts. Right on the edge of the forest for hiking, yet still close to town, so restaurants, supermarkets, an indoor swimming pool, and more are within walking distance. We would gladly come again.

We had a wonderful stay for two days. The operator is very friendly and completely flexible. We paid via PayPal after registering by phone. The facilities and services are excellent. Absolutely top location, with hiking trails and the centre directly accessible. It was our first, but not our last, stay in this region and at this site.

The site is nicely central for exploring the town centre. Fresh-water and waste facilities are available, but everything costs extra, and then it is €25 for the night—rather borderline.

We also wanted to stay here tonight. But €25 in mid-December for a space that had not been cleared of snow is outrageous. Tourist tax is added on top. We drove on.

Very nice site operators, with clean and well-maintained sanitary facilities. If you wish, you can rent a private bathroom. Payment via PayPal is possible. Background road noise is somewhat disturbing but not annoying.

We are here again. Compared with my last post from 2023, I can now say that progress is being made. There are rental bathrooms with their own shower and toilet. The utility building has new wooden cladding. We are happy to come here and, of course, will return.

Very friendly operators. We received tips about where to shop and about public transport, which is included in the guest card. The price of €15 plus tourist tax is perfectly reasonable. The guest card offers many discounts, for example admission to the leisure pool.
