Been here?
Public parking by Kaunas Castle in the old town, very close to the centre and river. It is paid from 8-20h and has been reported as noisy late at night because of cars, engine revving and loud music. Current comments report a new sign forbidding campers and camping trailers, so motorhome and caravan access is prohibited.

Very close to the city. We were lucky to get a front-row spot, directly beside the river and castle. Of course, it is a busy place, and at night it was noisy because of cars and music at full volume. Nevertheless, we felt safe and spent the night there.Translating
Perfect for visiting the city, only a five-minute walk away. Sleeping is probably possible; we moved to a quieter place by the river.Translating
Still possible for motorhomes, but not caravans. There are no specially designated motorhome spaces, so it is unsuitable for longer and wider vehicles. Very noisy at night because the tuning scene shows off. Directly beside the castle and old town.Translating
Not available for campers anymore. There's a new sign forbidding campers and camping trailers.
The previous comments had already warned us. Around 9 p.m., cars began arriving with music at full volume and revving their engines. It seems to be some kind of custom in this city. We left for the monastery parking area.Translating
We parked here for three hours to visit the city. With a lot of luck, we even found a place for our 7.90-meter motorhome, with the rear extending over the grass verge.Translating
The parking area is central. Good opportunity to take the dogs out. In the evening and until late at night, many people meet there with their cars, race around the bends and rev their engines. It was very noisy until 2 a.m.Translating
Perfect location and size. There is a sign prohibiting caravans. We saw nothing prohibiting motorhomes. We paid €4.90 for 3 hours and 50 minutes.Translating
Excellent parking for visiting the city. There is a sign prohibiting caravans, but we stayed only in the parking area and paid normally; we had no problems.Translating
Very close to the center, but motorhomes and caravans are prohibited.Translating
Great for daytime parking in our 7-meter motorhome. We stopped for a few hours, visited the city, paid little and felt safe.Translating
8.5 m. In and out on 14/10/2025. Paid parking very close to the castle, €1 per hour from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., free from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following day. Easy to reach and very convenient for visiting Kaunas’ historic center. We stopped only during the day. To sleep, we preferred the monastery parking area at Pazaislis just outside Kaunas.Translating
Good to visit the town during the day but by 9.20pm it was filling up with youngsters revving their cars and socialising. We moved on to avoid the noise!
Place was quite noisy at night. I understand sounds in the city well, but I don't understand drifting in the city center. The drifting noise was terrible and continued from 11pm-02am. Otherwise, the place is in a good location and there were a few other people staying there.
Not accessible; restricted-traffic zone.Translating
Close to the old town, but I would not recommend staying overnight; it is very noisy.Translating
good and big parking. We only stayd during the day and the location was great
For visiting the city, this is one of the closest and most accessible paid parking areas. I paid €5 for a morning of parking.Translating
Parking is fine during the day, but at night the noise is intolerable. It is a street-racing spectacle every evening; I spent three consecutive nights there. What a shame, because it is very well located. Like the previous commenter, I don’t understand why the police do nothing; the neighbors must be exhausted.Translating
A large parking lot with a very good location, suitable for daytime parking. However, nighttime parking is impossible, because at 10 pm local youths start rallying there and it lasts until the morning hours. And so every day. The local police do not care about rallies and the city government is not interested in installing road humps in the parking lot.
Nice place, but for the reasons mentioned above we could not stay overnight. The tuning scene was extreme that Friday evening, so we moved to the spot by the large park.Translating
The local tuning scene meets here in the evening and races across the parking area at full speed. After three hours of constant disturbance, we moved to another place in the middle of the night. We have never experienced anything this intense anywhere else. Unfortunately, it is also bad publicity for the city.Translating
The location is excellent for the old town. The parking meter worked without problems—€10 from 12:30 p.m. until 10:30 a.m. the next day, a fair price. Nevertheless, we drove to another campsite in the evening because the car and motorcycle show-offs were unbearably loud in both parking areas. Recommended for daytime sightseeing, absolutely not for overnight stays.Translating
We arrived in this parking lot around 5 PM and we easily got a place for our 23 feet long motorhome although the parking lot was very crowded. We paid € 4.00 for 5 hours and we definitely had a pleasant stay, it wasn't very quiet but we felt safe and nobody bothered us. We had a short walk to the city center from here and we enjoyed the location between the river and the castle.
Large, spacious parking area, also suitable for large motorhomes. Perfect for visiting the old town and castle. Good restaurant nearby. Somewhat noisy in the evening, as it is popular with car show-offs.Translating
Anyone staying overnight must be able to tolerate the noise caused by cars constantly driving back and forth. For such a central location, though, it is acceptable.Translating
Very good, inexpensive place for visiting Kaunas. Public toilet 70 meters from the parking area. We parked directly near the castle in the last parking space and even had a good view of the Nemunas from the table and bed. Despite the rain, the parking area was very busy, but there were still a few free spaces.
Very centrally located, with enough space and large parking bays—just as it should be.
€1 per hour. Perfect for a day trip to Kaunas because of its central location. Not busy on a rainy day. No problem finding a parking space with a 7-meter motorhome.
Paid parking during the day at €1 per hour; free after 8 p.m. You can conveniently pay for the following day in advance. As I write this at 10:30 p.m., local youths are cruising into and out of the parking area, but they are driving calmly. Many previous comments found the cruising disturbing. The place itself is lovely. It is a short distance to the confluence of the two rivers.
Castle parking. Paid from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is a sign prohibiting caravans. From here you can walk to the sights. The parking area is very busy during the day, but it quietened down after 11 p.m. and we had a very good night. There were five motorhomes.
We were there Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. Because of the negative comments about noise, we preferred to sleep elsewhere. The prohibition sign is for caravans. There were several motorhomes during the day; we saw the police drive through the parking area on both occasions, but they did not approach any parked motorhomes. The spaces are indeed quite narrow.
