We booked for two nights but unfortunately had to leave after one night for family reasons. The operators still charged us for two nights, claiming that other inquiries had been rejected because of our booking. In our view, that is complete nonsense, since the site was at most 50 percent occupied.
Based on the reviews, we prepared ourselves for an unfriendly welcome. Our humour even made the lady smile in the end. The pitches are okay and had everything we needed. Not completely modern, but clean and practical. The restaurant is highly recommended—real home cooking like Grandma used to make. The lake is perfect for cooling off.
The lady at reception is a little grumpy, but if you take it with humour, she can be very friendly. The site manager made everything possible for us: we had reserved for three motorhomes but arrived with four—no problem for him! The pitch was huge and could have accommodated a fifth vehicle. The lake is also very beautiful and clean. We will be back!
Current price: motorhome €8 and person €8, plus a 5% tourist tax.
Basic campsite, but beautifully located between two small lakes. Everything you need is available. A wonderful cycle and walking path to Erfurt begins not far from the campsite and runs almost as far as Krämerbrücke. Simply great.
Arrival on Monday at the end of September: minimum stay of two days. The one-night pitches are occupied. Hard to believe. This was also communicated very rudely. We then drove to the Messe motorhome site.
Extremely helpful! I had to work for a while and was allowed to sit in the beer garden. I could choose the spot for my van myself, so I stood right by the lake. The swimming lake is beautifully landscaped, with many lovely spots and benches. Erfurt is easily reachable by cycling through the countryside. The showers were wonderfully warm and the homemade apple cake was delicious!
Excellent pitch with two great gravel lakes. Our pitch was right by the lake. Erfurt and Weimar were easy to reach by train, as the station is just around the corner, making it easy to explore the area. Pleasant stay; the site manager explained everything, so no questions remained. Friendly and accommodating.
Reception closed on the first Sunday in August! Impossible to settle in, which is a real shame. We are moving on...
Very quiet and pleasant motorhome site, tidy sanitary facilities, friendly site manager. Pitch directly by the water.
I was turned away rudely. During the high season, overnight stays for one night are not possible. I would even have eaten at the restaurant, but if they do not need the business... What a shame.
Really great site with operators who have their hearts in the right place. Highlights include the proximity to Erfurt with an excellent cycle path, the location between two lakes—although swimming is allowed in only one—and the small restaurant serving very tasty dishes. The whistling train did not bother us, and we did not notice the gravel works (holiday in August?). We would gladly come back.
Very nice once you get past the unfriendly lady... The site is worth it. Erfurt is quickly reachable by bike. The sanitary facilities are dated but okay, and we found the electricity very expensive. We would come again, though.
Extremely unfriendly; we did not stay here.
