Castle parking, busy daytime

Even too tight for short panel vans, and when cars are parked on both sides, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to get out again!

First of all, not suitable for motorhomes over 6.5 meters! Otherwise, free parking is available within walking distance of Wernigerode. We arrived around 1 p.m. and were lucky that a parking space had just become available.

Quiet, ideal for visiting the castle, 15 minutes to the old town. Recommended.

Basically a nice parking spot for activities in the city. But it did not take long before a city employee came and took photos of us and a motorhome next to us. Parking seems to be tolerated. I suspect the authorities will knock if you spend the night. Perhaps possible for small, inconspicuous vehicles. Parking is free.

We stayed here for two days. It was quiet and safe. It was close to the city center. The park nearby was very nice.

Great sheltered parking area for vans and small motorhomes. We spent a very relaxed and quiet night here so we could visit Wernigerode and the wonderful castle the next day. During the day, however, the parking area was overcrowded because it was a public holiday. Pizza delivery to the parking area is possible :-)

Busy in day with castle visitors, come early or late. 6 metres max. Narrow spaces, too narrow for most motorhomes. 10 minutes walk to castle or old town. Probably quiet at night.

Very nice, quiet spot, and if it is treated carefully, perhaps many more campers will be able to use it for sleeping. Perfect if you want to visit the castle or the city. We were very grateful for this great spot.

Great quiet parking area by a park. Twenty minutes on foot to the center.

Quiet place, a nice starting point for visiting the castle. Parking spaces are rather short; a Ford Nugget fits perfectly.

We spent a very quiet night in the camper. Completely fine for micro- and minicampers, Bullis and similar vehicles, but from 6 meters in length the vehicle will clearly protrude beyond the gap, so you should avoid this spot. At the end of April there were no other campers in the evening, and no cars came to the parking area either.

Not only is the parking length limited to 6 meters, the parking area is also only 2.3 meters wide.

NOT suitable for vehicles over 6 meters!!! Today I had to watch as a semi-integrated motorhome with a long overhang squeezed in. It simply broke off the bushes that were in its way at the rear. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! So please park here only up to a maximum length of 6 meters! I did not see any rubbish bins.
