South West Coast Path, Appledore
Been here?
Large municipal parking overlooking the Torridge Estuary, with toilets and a maximum stay of 2 nights. Overnight parking costs £15 per night, and vehicles around 6m may need to pay for two bays. The town, play area and skate park are nearby, with attractive views and generally quiet conditions after 9pm.

Disappointed that this park up is so expensive at £15 per night, as my motorhome is 6m I have to pay for two bays. I usually pay £30 per night for a fully serviced hard standing on a site.
Only stayed for a couple of hours but would happily have spent longer - lovely little town and stunning views from here. No problem parking with Ringo. There are very detailed instructions displayed as to how motorhomes should park and longer units may struggle or have to pay for two bays. There are a few where our 6 m panel van could overhang without encroaching on other spaces.
Car park with gorgeous views! My children loved parking up next to a play area and skate park. All was quiet after 9pm. Toilet block open until late and again by 8:30am… may have been open all night, but we used our onboard facilities after 9pm. Easy to pay (use code 54521 on Ringo) and they ask that vehicles staying over use certain bays (middle rows I think, but check the sign when you arrive).
We tryed to stay here but couldn't, the carpark payment is managed by Ringo and there is a code for motorhomes for overnight payment. The code is NOT recognised on there website and we couldn't make payment and had to leave.Im not sure if overnight parking is still allowed but if it is you cannot park in the bays closest to the sea.
Nice location, town had a nice vibe but parking is way too expensive! Toilets were dirty. Would be nice but they are being too greedy with £15 a night for a car park!
Ridiculously expensive to stay here. Must be the dearest car park in Devon. You might as well pay a few pounds more and stay on a site with showers and electricity. Won't be back.
Easy place to park up, a good view and amazing village. But it does work out expensive.
I have stayed here off and on for 6 years…. I can categorically say, warden doesnt start work until 8am. Why spend £15 on a bay when you could park on the road for free? Spend £15 in a local business and cut out the middleman/council.
Lovely town with plenty of great pubs etc. No parking for motorhomes along the river front but that actually wasn’t a problem. Toilets open all night. Quiet place overnight. It says £15 per night and long vehicles have to pay for two bays. We paid via app only had the option to pay for 24 hours was £7.70 and there are bays which have space behind them to overhang and it not be a second bay.
