Wolfe Tone Square
Been here?
Free parking in Wolfe Tone Square, close to the town centre, harbour, shops, restaurants, pubs and toilets. The far end has longer spaces with overhang, and a 7.5m vehicle fitted there, although manoeuvring may be needed. Nights are usually quiet, with attractive harbour sunrises and sunsets. Glass and tin recycling containers are available, but there are no general waste bins.

Stayed day and night. Free parking in town centre. Toilets and shops nearby. Quiet at night. Great sunrise and sunset by harbour.
The height barrier was gone. We slept here on Friday. Quiet night, but at 8 a.m. glass was already being dropped off. No rubbish bins, only glass and metal containers. Beautiful village with many restaurants.
Spent a quiet night here, even on a Friday, no height barrier. Longer spaces with overhang (we're 7.5m and were fine) near glass recycling but it wasn't noisy. Loos in nearby supermarket or on other side of harbour.
At the far end, near the waste containers, it is level. We slept here for one night. Within walking distance of a large supermarket and pubs. The lot was empty in the evening; in the morning it was quite full, with the associated noise. Waste collection is only for glass and cans.
Decent size car park. We parked near the recycle bins as we can overhang the space. The Snug is nice for drinks and a meal
Beware: there is a market on Friday morning, so we could not stay overnight on Thursday.
Great location: toilet, restaurants, and shopping facilities. We had a quiet night.
Three possible parking spots at far end where you can reverse over pavement. Think 6.5m would be maximum length possible. Bit of manoevring required to reverse but possible. Rest of spaces only car length. Yes close to recycling but quiet overnight. I stayed 2 nights.
Very quiet when we arrived in the evening. No height barrier and ample room for our 6.5 meter van. Easy to manoeuvre out the next day when the car park was full. Toilets a minutes walk away open all night. SuperValu a few minutes down the road with a co-working space situated on the 2nd floor.
Busy car park, few spaces for larger vans, with the rear sticking out in most. Also a bottle bank, so there was quite a lot of broken glass in those spaces in front of the recycling bins. We drove on rather than risk getting a puncture.
Free parking right in the town center. Close to the big supermarket, SuperValu. Public toilets nearby, a 2- to 3-minute walk depending on where you park. No other facilities.
Good for parking, but there is no "paid area to empty waste and refill", contrary to the July 2024 review
great location close to shops and bars. we were particularly lucky with the weather. camped there for the night and used the paid area to empty waste and refill... €2
