stayed for one night nice and quiet, slept well
Quiet spot parallel to the A99, within walking distance of John O’Groats (15 to 20 minutes). Beautiful 360-degree views. We parked beside the road, where the surface is partly paved. Later in the evening, a second camper parked there. There could be room for three campers. Already occupied? Twenty meters farther on the right is an even nicer spot on a dead-end road just before the field. There are some midges, though.
Good for staying overnight, but there are lots of mosquitoes and bugs.
Okay for one night. Quiet during the night, but it can get windy.
Separated from the road via a few metres of grass. Very little traffic at night. Far enough off the road to avoid buffeting.
Good spot for a night. Traffic was not too loud. Slightly eerie being alone in the mist, though!
