14 Via Giuseppe Rizzo, 87067, Rossano
Been here?
A free communal parking area with 6 camper spaces, although cars, buses and market sellers also use them. Drinking water and cassette-toilet emptying are available, but there is no grate for grey-water drainage. The ground is slightly sloped, and traffic, bar music or groups of young people can cause noise. The historic centre and shops are nearby.

Thanks to the municipality for providing it, but the site is anything but inviting. Cars come every few minutes to draw drinking water, and the site is quite sloped.Translating
Large parking area with 6 dedicated camper spaces, but buses and cars also use them because they are partly shaded. You can empty and rinse the toilet at the service column, but there is no drain for gray water. A spring with three taps provides water. The cathedral is the town's only real jewel; the other monuments are closed.Translating
Spent a quiet night. The bar opposite had already closed at 8 p.m. The site is very clean. Thanks to the municipality for the free parking area.Translating
Alone tonight. Welcomed by a shepherd with his goats. Very clean, slightly sloping site. Music from the bar opposite until midnight. After a quiet night, we visited the beautiful cathedral on Monday morning, emptied the cassette and filled up with drinking water. Note: do not use the bins opposite, otherwise Mr. Bar gets angry. Good stopover.Translating
Serves its purpose, but nothing more. Very noisy. Rossano unfortunately disappointed us; there was not much to see. The motorhome spaces are also occupied by cars and market vendors, even on non-market days. One highlight is Pizzeria Mangolia, about an 8-minute walk away.Translating
Really quiet spot near the historic center. Water available. Beautiful view.Translating
Bakery 200 meters away down the street. Quite a bit of traffic at night. Around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, the glass bins were emptied. The handle on the water tap at the service column was missing, but pliers solved the problem.Translating
We were sleeping with two one-year-old children when we heard a bang on the motorhome. We do not know whether it was a stone or something else. We quickly went outside and saw a group of eight young people. We found no damage, but decided to leave because we did not feel welcome. The place is poorly maintained and vehicles occupy the motorhome area. Avoid it if possible to avoid unpleasant surprises.Translating
I do not understand the low ratings for this area: the marked spaces are huge, it is practically next to the center, there is a cassette drain and a spring with excellent water just a few meters away—and it is all free. Go figure.Translating
Very disappointed with the place and the town. The water is not drinkable, contrary to what we had read, and the area is poorly frequented. A group of young people threw firecrackers. We preferred to sleep elsewhere.Translating
The area is quiet; we slept without any disturbance. It is very well lit at night. The town is worth visiting and is very beautiful.Translating
Quiet night from 10 p.m. As almost everywhere in Italy, I counted seven cars between 2 and 7 a.m. because I sleep poorly. However, the market sets up from 7:30 a.m., even when it is not the first or third Friday of the month. The vendors are friendly and told us to stay. Just be careful not to get blocked in afterward.Translating
Free parking, but really noisy. Cars and shouting at all hours. No possibility of emptying gray water. There is a tap at the black-water drain, but the water is not potable. Nearby there are public fountains where locals fill their containers, but it is not stated whether that water is drinkable. Overall, I do not recommend stopping here.Translating
Quiet night. In the morning it is perfect because of the hill's shade. Last night we also ate at Trattoria Porta Romana, a 2-minute walk away. Excellent food and a really friendly owner; we recommend it too.Translating
Area as already described, in a town with a historic center worth visiting. We had lunch at Trattoria Porta Romana and were very satisfied. Recommended.Translating
Thanks to the municipality for this stopping area. The drain works, and spring water is available for filling up. A place with old-world charm.Translating
As of today, the drain is clogged.Translating
Rossano is located in the Sibari plain, between the Sila mountains and the Ionian coast, about 100 km northeast of Cosenza. The town has created a small six-space area for us just at the entrance, with water and cassette emptying. Everyone comes here to collect water from the tap. The magnificent cathedral is worth seeing. Quiet night, easy access even for our 9.3-meter vehicle.Translating
Spacious pitches, water available, toilets on the other side of the tunnel, and a bar directly opposite. Thank you to the municipality.Translating
Very good, at the foot of the town. Service area with amenities, in very good condition. No grate for emptying gray water, so a bucket or something similar is needed. Levelling blocks are necessary because it is sloped. Potable-water spring on the side. Thanks to the municipality. A very good pizzeria, Magnolie Di Cianciaruso Massimo, is a 7-minute walk away.Translating
We just left the place. There is no space for us. All the caravan spaces are taken by normal cars. It’s unbelievable.
The drain is only for the cassette. There is no ground grate for gray water or black water.
Convenient, spacious camper area very close to the historic center. The beautiful, well-maintained historic center has carefully restored period buildings. Try the local wood-fired bread and Caciocavallo Silano cheese. The Sila water fountain is convenient. Thanks to the municipality for its hospitality. The only criticism is the rubbish around the spring, which locals tolerate with resignation, to my astonishment.
Four stars because it is free, for which we thank the municipality. It is sloped, so levelling blocks are needed. Quiet at night in this season. Excellent for visiting the beautiful historic center.
The parking area is quite sloped and unusable without levelling blocks. The water has good pressure and you can empty the toilet. Fine and free. However, the town is neglected and bleak.
Very convenient and quiet parking, suitable for spending the night. The services are fine, and the drinking-water fountains work; the water comes from the Sila mountains, according to locals. We visited the historic center and spent a peaceful night. Thanks to the municipality.
We parked in the late afternoon and stayed overnight. Despite being near the road, the place is quiet and peaceful. The service point has non-potable water, but a few meters away there are taps with drinking water used by locals.
Quiet parking; we slept one night. There is a spring fountain where locals come and go to fill their bottles. Free camper services, but no gray-water drain. Very close to the center; it deserves four stars.
