Camping Shearbarn

Access to the campsite is via a small one-way street. A fairly wide motorhome, in our case a coachbuilt, scraped the hedge on the right going up and on the left coming down. Far from Hastings town centre. Cycling back after visiting the town requires a good electric bike, as the hill is steep. £49 for one night for two adults and one dog, including electricity, on concrete ground; too expensive in November.

We discovered this place while travelling along the south coast. Very nice and helpful staff. The sanitary facilities could be cleaner. Getting there is difficult with a motorhome because there is only one access road and it is very narrow. Otherwise, pleasant.

It’s ok, btw 2 and 3 stars I would say. On the bright side: on the tent field there seem to be spots free quite often also for vans and also spontaneously. However the field seems like a bad festival with rather weird ppl with unbehaved kids. Loud! Some toilet buildings are really old, others are new. We paid 32 quid for a family with a van. Pay extra for the awning ;) hence, seems quite square.

Nice place in the middle of a nature reserve. It is a large campsite where there is room even in high season. The sanitary facilities are adequate, and that is all that can be said. Hastings itself is definitely worth a visit. Parking for motorhomes in the town is difficult.

A very spacious campsite; the access road is very narrow. Some points were deducted for the cleanliness of the showers and toilets, perhaps due to the season; they could be better. There was also a lot of rubbish on the campsite.

Lovely staff, not too expensive with electricity. Super quiet in low-season. Path to walk your dog. Amazing!

I wanted to shower and freshen up in the sanitary facilities. For that it was okay, but I cannot give more than three stars. The location is excellent and the staff friendly, but the site is quite old. The grass clippings lay thick on the meadow, which was unattractive. £30 for one person on the camper field without electricity seems too expensive to me. A definite plus: fires are allowed.

Beautiful campsite. We had planned to stay one night, but extended by another night. Welcoming staff, clean and heated sanitary facilities. Very peaceful location, very close to walks along the cliffs. £36 with electricity.

On the tent campsite with the motorhome: two adults and one child, without electricity, for £31. The showers were on the other half of the site, at the more expensive pitches. The bathroom floors were always very dirty. Positively, there was plenty of space, so you could stay away from others in peace. The staff were very friendly.

Nice staff! A lot of space between the other campers. Nice walkingway into the city. Sanitaries are dirty and no possibility to plug in a hairdryer. We paid for two adults, a dog and a campervan without electricity 27£ for one night.

Very beautiful and peaceful site. Everything is very well maintained. We got a pitch even without a reservation. Friendly and amusing welcome. The access road is very narrow and steep. Tip: walk into town and take a taxi back to the site. It costs about £7.

We stayed here for one night over a long weekend. Although we had no reservation, the staff welcomed us very warmly. The walk to the town of Hastings takes about 30 minutes through a beautiful coastal nature park. We paid £28 for one night without electricity in a VW bus.

The approach was somewhat spectacular, as a sign suddenly appeared on the hillside road saying it was unsuitable for caravans. Turning back was not an option, so we fought our way past the rubbish collection truck. The site is huge and beautifully laid out with many trees. The showers and toilets are average. £28 for a motorhome and two people is okay.

Very pretty place with lots of lovely walks. We paid £36 for four people for one night in a motorhome. Dirty sanitary facilities, noisy neighbours…

WARNING! Navigation via the Park4night app directs you onto a small road that ends after about two miles because there is a barrier! Drive into town and enter the destination again from there.\nThe campsite is huge and very beautiful! Lots of green grass, surrounded by trees and bushes. Sanitary facilities clean and well maintained. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Nice place to stay for a night.\nNot very practical for wastewater or filling with clean water...\nBathrooms are basic but okay.

Friendly welcome. In high season, access is difficult and the sanitary facilities are too basic. We miss the family campsites of Wales.
