Camping Simos

Everything is great: shady pitches, a beautiful beach, and clean showers and toilets. However, we rented two bikes there and got a flat tire after a short time due to the road conditions and low tire pressure. We still had to pay the full 24 hours for the bikes plus the repair, so two stars deducted. Overall, still recommended.✦Translating

The toilets and showers were shocking: broken lights, loose tiles, constantly dirty, wet and very slippery. Be aware that the tap and shower water is salty. The restaurant plays very loud techno music all day, the food is poor, self-service, served only in plastic containers, and both it and the mini market are overpriced. The beach is nice but far away and has no showers. Not recommended!

Wonderful nearby beaches! Friendly and helpful staff. But the campsite has very narrow pitches. Quite crowded even in June. There is no airflow because everyone is so close together. Packed with mosquitoes.✦Translating

We visited on June 14 for three nights. We received an excellent welcome from a fellow countryman, who showed us around the campsite and let us choose a pitch. The sanitary facilities are very well maintained. There is a taverna and a shop. The beach is paradise on earth, with fine sand and crystal-clear water.✦Translating

I stayed for two days in May. Good reception, many pitches of all sizes, and good facilities. Direct access to the fantastic Simos beach. The only blemish, as I saw in an earlier comment, is the gray-water dumping area.✦Translating

Functional campsite except for the technical area for emptying gray and black water, which is a real disaster. How could anyone have designed such a poorly conceived area? Covered spaces intended for high vehicles are right at the back of the campsite and are not easy to find. The water supplied is brackish and not drinkable.✦Translating

I cannot agree with all the previous reviews. Very pleasant stay, beach 100 meters away, sufficiently clean showers and toilets, and its own shop, restaurant, and bar on the campsite. Pitches with roofs. Clean sanitary facilities. We were there on a weekend and the campsite was very crowded. Partygoers in tents, noisy and crying children in motorhomes. The beach was very crowded. The campsite is by the beach, but you have to cross the dunes. The water is not drinkable.✦Translating

We give it 5 stars because it is the only site on the island. We stayed with a 7-meter motorhome on an open pitch, rear end facing the path, with 3x6 meters of partial shade in front on fine gravel. Completely adequate and pleasant. Direct beach access, and the beach is amazing. Showers and toilets are well maintained. Yes, the site has some covered pitches, but you can move each day. No fixed pitches. ACSI: 25 euros.✦Translating

While passing through the island, we ran out of fresh water. We simply asked for 100 liters of water, of course offering to pay. The result: we were thrown out. No help, no sense of hospitality or mutual assistance. Avoid this place.✦Translating

We drove to the campsite full of anticipation and were very disappointed. Yes, there are many pitches, but most have carport-style coverings. Sanitary facilities dirty, some staff unfriendly, and many mosquitoes. Currently under construction for new covered pitches. More precisely, parking spaces with lots of gravel and concrete. We passed through at the beginning of May. The place was very quiet and we had room to isolate ourselves. But in summer, it must be hell! The pitches are small and very numerous.✦Translating

Very friendly reception. The site is the only one of its kind on the island. There are enough small pitches; from 7 meters onward, the choice is limited. What bothered us was how tightly packed the pitches are and the amount of concrete, which takes away from the cozy atmosphere. At least at the end of the season, as it is now, it is a good campsite! We were able to choose our pitch, even among the tent pitches, and found a very spacious one with a large shelter. The beach is absolutely magnificent, the small shop has the essentials, and the restaurant is very good. The sanitary facilities should, however, be cleaned more thoroughly.✦Translating

Beautiful beach nearby. Good restaurant. The sanitary facilities are okay and always cleaned well. Pitches are very tight. But a visit is definitely worthwhile. The motorhome water tank should be filled on the mainland, as the water at the campsite is slightly salty.✦Translating

Up to 6 meters long, you can stay in the tent area and are not far from the beach. Everything was clean and okay overall. Be aware that there is no drinking water, though this is a problem across the whole island. We were satisfied: around €30 per night for two adults and a camper in early October. We would come again, but not in high season; the size of the site and the negative reviews speak for themselves.✦Translating

The campsite has few attractive pitches for large motorhomes. Small campers and vans up to 6 meters can stand very nicely in the tent area in front of the shade shelters. We had a very nice first-row pitch in September and cannot understand the negative comments. The toilets and other facilities were clean and the staff friendly. Everything has already been said about the wonderful beach.✦Translating

Beware, at pitch number 10 reinforcing steel protrudes from the concrete and can damage tires! The sanitary facilities are ancient, although cleanliness is maintained as well as possible. Cassette cleaning is disgusting. The beach is the only thing that impresses. With no competition on the island, things will continue this way. Poor value for money.✦Translating

Concrete campsite, sanitary facilities showing their age, but efforts are made to keep them clean! Be careful with the pitches: reinforcing steel protrudes from the concrete and is bad for tires. The beach and sea make up for everything!

Place made only for profit: the area where we parked looked like a parking lot for big campers, sanitary facilities with minimum standards, no paper for wiping hands near the basins, rust in toilets and in kitchen area. They advertise under services lounges/umbrellas on the beach, but actually they want money (30-40 euro in the low season). And, no receipt. Monopoly exploiting the customer!

We spent three nights in the new section. Our camper is 3 meters high and we were able to choose a covered, shady pitch. The sanitary facilities in this area are relatively new, but unfortunately not quite up to standard. The cleaning staff are constantly trying to keep everything clean. It often depends on what previous guests leave behind. Everything has already been said about the beach and sea. For us, the site offers three-star value for money.

Pros: large grounds, good parking spaces to suit every preference, good location, magnificent beach, and of course wonderful water and beautiful views! Cons: no decent food; apart from pizza, there is nothing to eat. It is not a restaurant but a cafeteria, and there are too many people everywhere. No sun loungers provided by the campsite.

The beach is truly incredible! Do not go on the weekend unless you want to party. The site is geared toward campers with tents. The pitches are small but okay. The sanitary facilities are okay, but the water smells of chlorine. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed our stay.

Best camping ever with shadow places

Close to the beach, quieter at the back with a shade shelter. Unfortunately, the entire site feels like a gravel parking lot: extremely cramped and with zero privacy. The beach is overcrowded, with loud speakers. Sanitary facilities are disastrous: constantly dirty, salty water standing in the showers, and borderline toilets. At €35 including electricity, it is completely overpriced—it survives only because there is no alternative.

We were supposed to stay two nights but decided to stay one extra day, which says everything about this campsite and beach. They put us in the new area, where the pitches are huge, at least 8x8 meters, shaded, with electricity and water at every pitch, and clean bathrooms. What more can I say? Recommended, and we will return. Elafonisos is a gem! Price: €42 for two people and a 6-meter camper van.

Two stars for the position really close to the beach (which, however is super crowded and noisy with loud music all the time). We had a car with a roof tent but there are no sheltered places for this kind of vehicles, if not very far. We were given a small place in a basically parking lot with no privacy at all. Pricy: 37 per night for 2 people. Live music at the bar till 1am. Go and run away.

Too expensive, music all night, small pitches, and the bathrooms are not very clean. The sea is wonderful, but the beach is too crowded at this time of year. Groups play music loudly all day and leave rubbish everywhere.

Much too expensive compared with other campsites for a tiny concrete pitch in the middle of a huge campsite. The sanitary facilities are dirty and insufficient for everyone on the site, so there are long waits. Beach chairs cost 40 euros. The shower water is salty, there is no drinking water at the campsite, and there is noise and shouting all night.

Disappointing and overpriced. It is the only campsite on the island, so you are forced to go there BUT I would not recco it; it looks more like a huge parking lot, with tents and cars scattered everywhere. The few spots available for campervans are with no lawns or trees - the only shade comes from sheets installed above some pitches. Even the beach is no better than others on the island
