This roadside layby overlooks Winterley Pool, where ducks and swans can be watched. Although the road is quieter since the bypass, the area is more inhabited than expected, with housing, a vehicle leasing yard and a Chinese takeaway nearby. There are plenty of bins, and local traffic is generally quiet. The pool’s fishing rights belong to Winterley Pool Fishery.

Nice enough location but a bit more inhabited than I was expecting. I'll let you know if it's as quiet as advertised. I've parked opposite a vehicle leasing yard. other sections are opposite residential housing so I didn't go there.... Chinese takeaway almost opposite... local volunteers picking up rubbish so that's nice Ah just read the daily parking lot only bit....oh well off we go
Although it was a main road it was very quiet and the wildlife was wonderful. plenty of bins, would definitely stay again
