Gravel lay-by, steep narrow access

Due to closure of the A592 south of Kirkstone Pass Inn because of a landslip, the 2m (6ft 6inch) width limit on the ‘Struggle’ (Kirkstone to Ambleside) is likely to be more enforced to prevent larger vehicles/motorhomes using this minor narrow route.

STUNNING views, stayed here from the afternoon & overnight. Very quiet in the evening. The hill to get up to this spot is long and a steep incline, we drove up in the rain and it was slightly scary, but worth it. Will definitely go back

My favourite car camp spot so far! Space for 2 small vans only. Gorgeous view of Wansfell and lake Windermere in the background. A few cars passed overnight. Space for camping chair/table . please leave no trace.

One of the nicest park ups around. Stayed the night and it was great. Few cars passed but not too many in the night. Stunning views all around and set back so you feel safe

Nice views. Had a quiet night but it was a real 'struggle' getting up here. Had a lot of oncoming traffic on a 20% incline narrow country road and it was very difficult getting to the spot.

Magnificent! Unfortunately, it was already occupied by a van right in the middle, so it was impossible to park beside it.. :/

Beautiful little place lovely views

Great spot. Space for 2 vans but it was just me for 2 nights (weekdays). Steep hill to get there but worth it. Quiet and wasn’t disturbed. No facilities at all so take your rubbish home with you!

stayed here twice over Easter weekend, tends to fill up quick after 8pm. relatively flat and great view. quite exposed so can be noisy when windy.

Great location with wonderful views. We spent one night here very early in the season (first week of March) and it is only a hundred or so feet below the snow line. Some activity during the night, a couple of cars stopped and then drove off. Otherwise no one bothered a Land Rover with roof tent. Might be different later in the season

beautiful park up, stayed on the 09.08.23 people, pick up your rubbish! there was used toilet roll left on the floor amongst other rubbish, it won't be a parking space for long otherwise

Lovely spot with a gorgeous view down the valley over Windermere lake. Was 1 other car when we arrived and we fir comfortably in a van. The lane is steep to get up but is nice and quiet overnight. No toilets but only a few mins drive to Ambleside with all its cafes/restaurants/pubs with facilities if needed.
