Camping le Giessen

Very expensive and very poorly maintained. Does not deserve its four stars at all.

Wonderful place. We spent a little more than a week at Camping Paradis le Giessen. Beautiful location close to Villé. The sanitary facilities are good, but lacked toilet paper and soap for most of our stay. Some of the electrical outlets do not work, so be mindful of getting a spot with electricity. We will definitely return to Camping Paradis another time.

A place for families with many leisure activities on and off site. 80% mobile homes, well maintained. Pitches are OK, some shaded and some with hedges; electricity is not available everywhere. Negative: only one of the two sanitary buildings was open, 300 m away; some taps were broken, some bins dirty, and flower boxes had withered plants. Everything was a little careless.

Beautiful campsite with a great pool, clean, and a good welcome. However, extremely noisy: residents playing music at full volume and mopeds using the cycle path next to the campsite until 3 a.m. We left more tired than when we arrived. It is a shame, because apart from that the campsite is excellent!

The mobile-home fever has broken out here too. The entire campsite is full of tightly packed mobile homes, construction sites, and junk piles. The few camper pitches are nice, but littered with old abandoned caravans. There is no other exit. The surroundings are great, but the campsite is currently off-putting. Of course, this may only be a snapshot in time; I hope so.

The pitches are nice, shaded, and a reasonable size. The toilets and showers are clean but cold in September, and you need to bring your own toilet paper. A plus is the small swimming pool next door, which can be used free of charge. Otherwise, there is little appeal in the off-season for the price.
