Been here?
This is a parking area beside the Traunstein restaurant, with a public beach directly across the street. The restaurant can be noisy until 23.00 when open, while a recent visit found it closed and no Dixie toilet available. The beach has benches and tables, but dogs are not allowed there. Access roads are narrow, and comments report restrictions or permission requirements for motorhome parking.

We parked here during the day to hike the Naturfreunde via ferrata. From here, it is about another 25 minutes on foot to the turnaround parking area. That was no problem on the way there, but the return after the via ferrata and hike felt somewhat long. A good alternative if the turnaround area is full, which is likely because there are not many spaces there. During the week, parking is free.Translating
Not entirely sure if the place is really free parking or belonging to the near restaurant but we decided to give it a try. No problems at all, police car came by several times without any problem. The public beach is excellent with benches and tables and we really enjoyed it. As said in one of the previous ratings, the restaurant was a bit noisy with kids birthday party.Translating
Great place but no dogs allowed on the beach Translating
We were here in mid-April and the Traunstein restaurant was closed. In front of the restaurant grounds there is a parking strip where two other campers were already parked besides us—without any problems! We could not find a portable toilet anymore, but for a quick pee I am happy to go into the wilderness ;-) Absolutely suitable for an overnight stop!Translating
The parking area belongs to Hois'n Wirt restaurant. We ate there deliciously and asked politely. The owner normally does not allow it, but he made an exception. We stayed one night in the off-season. The parking spaces are sometimes closed off with a chain, so be careful! An agreement is essential!Translating
We stayed here one night. But rather because we arrived late and were already tired to search for something new. The first picture shows only the beach, not the parking lot, so I uploaded a more accurate picture. Also this time the toilet was full and dirty. The view on the mountain is magnificent, so is the lake. But the access to the beach is actually private or belonging to scout association.Translating
Attention: there is a no-camping-car sign, but you can park before it; there are several parking areas.Translating
Today we drove four kilometres to this place from the north. It is a narrow road with parking bays along the side that were probably free at this time of year. There is an absolute no-stopping prohibition for motorhomes along the entire route, including at the designated spot. So we had to turn around.Translating
Great spot with nice public beach. Ideal for small cars and only to stop for a swim. I wouldn't recommend sleeping here.Translating
OK spot, but completely full and the roads are AWFUL to drive on, really small. It‘s also right next to the road. Would not recommend during high season.Translating
