Been here?
Scenic public/private roadside parking above Walensee near Amden, with short, narrow public bays (max ~5m) and a larger private area better suited to longer vehicles. The private spot costs 5 CHF, paid via honesty box or by phone contact with a friendly owner. Both areas slope noticeably, and proximity to the road brings some traffic noise, especially early morning. Travellers regularly spend the night here without issue, though the public lot can be blocked by farm equipment. A short walk leads to a beautiful viewpoint over the lake.

The payment machine has since been stolen; payment information is available by phone. Friendly contact. Perfectly adequate for one night, somewhat sloping, but we have stood in worse campsites. Beautiful view of the mountains. Great for the price!
Very uneven and next to the road.
Quite okay for one night, CHF 6 for 24 hours. The parking spaces are fairly short and narrow; with a length of 5.5 meters, we just fit. You need leveling ramps to stand straight. The road noise did not bother us at all, as there was little traffic at night.
The view is nice, but the place is very small and very close to the main road
Parking with a beautiful view, but there are quite a lot of cars late in the evening and from 6 a.m. onward. We spent one night here.
For one night, you don't need much more. Those who complain should go to a campsite. It will surely get better, but it is significantly more expensive.
Too close to the road and very sloping... you have to like that.
As we were in a motorhome, we parked in the private space because the public spaces were too small. We contacted the owner of the space, who was friendly on the phone. Beautiful view, but quite a lot of traffic early in the morning.
