Been here?
A peaceful picnic area above Elizondo, about 10 minutes by car, with stone picnic tables and shaded spaces. Overnight stays are possible, and the surrounding landscape has impressive views, horses and pottokas. There is no rubbish service, while the fountain provides untreated water. The access road is narrow, but the site is suitable for spending the day or night.

Good place to spend the night and have a picnic. Incredible scenery, with horses and pottokas around all the time. Some cheeky horses approach for food, so be careful. No rubbish facilities; there is a source of untreated water. Recommended.
Spectacular! Absolute nature and tranquillity. A route starts there and climbs to three of the highest peaks of Baztan, from where you can see everything! Five stars are not enough for this enchanting place.
Quiet setting; we spent the night without problems. Shaded area, a fountain and picnic tables.
It is genuinely worth stopping here. It is above Elizondo and offers beautiful views. Green meadows beneath fern forests, some trees for shade, and picnic tables. A good place to spend the day and stay overnight.
Unfortunately, it was rubbish; there is a noisy construction site nearby.
We spent a magnificent night. The silence was broken only by the cows' bells. The initial climb is difficult for a motorhome, but the road is well paved.
Quiet, shaded place near the village. There are several picnic tables and a fountain. The place is frequented by horses and sheep.
Magnificent place to spend the day. At night it is frequented by very noisy night owls in cars and on motorcycles who thought they were on a Formula 1 circuit. Others parked with their headlights and engine on for about an hour and left around 3 a.m. Apart from the noise, I was not bothered, but I will not sleep there again.
We slept alone. It was windy, but there is shelter among the trees. Picnic tables.
Quiet, spacious and cool place. There are a couple of stone picnic tables and a fenced drinking-water fountain protected from the horses. There are very large shaded areas, and large, tall vans can enter. Ideal place for pets to explore freely. We spent the night without any incident.
An idyllic place, ideal for stopping to eat or spending the night. The only negative point is that there are lots of ferns and, together with the loose livestock, this could lead to ticks. But simply check yourself after walking through the hills and continue your journey.
Super-quiet place to sleep; the foals roam freely and it is pleasant. At night there is an incredible sky. Fairly level and easy to access. Many routes start here. There is no drinking water or rubbish collection, but there are feeding troughs.
Great spot, quiet, right in the middle of nature in the mountains. Several hiking trails start here. It was 30°C when we were there, so the surrounding trees were greatly appreciated for shade and spending the night! The road climbs steeply to reach the spot, but it is no problem.
Until yesterday I would have given it five stars because I think it deserves them for how lovely the place is. But last night three men in a car smashed my window with a stone while I was inside. I wanted to hit them over the head with the stone and let the vultures eat them... The other ten times I slept there, nothing had ever happened and it had been a very peaceful place.
The place is spectacular, generally very peaceful and even idyllic. In our case, there was nobody else except the cows and pottokas. But unfortunately it was Saturday, and two cars of aggressive youths passed by and woke us by banging on the window and shouting “fire, fire!” You can imagine the fright, although it was just a somewhat gruesome prank.
We spent a fantastic night. There are picnic tables and a water fountain. Very quiet place surrounded by nature.
