Forest parking, muddy after rain

The motorhome parking area is very quiet (at least outside peak season), but small (no more than 3–4 vehicles), and can quickly become muddy. Note: there are no bins anywhere at the Fleckenstein site, so plan accordingly!

We spent a wonderfully quiet night here in the lower part of the parking lot. Happily again.

Absolutely quiet, lots of space. A little farther back, motorhome pitches are marked; we parked our camper sideways to the forest. Take your rubbish with you and leave no waste behind, then it will remain permitted :-)

Small parking area for vans and motorhomes, slightly separate from the car park in the forest. Very quiet. Toilets (not necessarily open all night outside events) are a 500 m walk toward the nearby castle and tourist office.

Part of the parking lot is signposted for motorhomes/caravans, with space for about 5 vehicles, but some spaces were occupied by cars. An entire night of noise due to a castle event: music, honking, shouting, and constant arrivals and departures. Instead of the hoped-for peace in the forest before an early hike, sleep was impossible.

We parked in the afternoon to visit Fleckenstein and decided to stay for the night. Very quiet. There were many of us, but the parking lot is very large, so we spread out to avoid being crowded.

Beautiful, secluded parking lot in the middle of the forest. I spent a very pleasant and quiet night here. It is really worth hiking for about 40 minutes to Wegelnburg at sunrise. From there you have a dreamlike view over the entire surrounding area. There are no toilets or bins. No prohibition signs whatsoever regarding overnight stays. Everything was tip-top!

Spent a very quiet night here; an absolutely perfect starting point for the Four Castles hike.

Pleasant, quiet place for one night. The lower pitches are level; farther uphill they slope somewhat. No bins—please take your rubbish with you.

Secluded, quiet, lonely parking lot in the middle of the forest. A little sunlight in winter. Full mobile reception. Anyone afraid of the dark should go to a campsite instead. We were completely alone and undisturbed. Several castle ruins can be reached on foot. Recommended!

We stayed for two nights, the minimum needed to do the hikes and tour the four castles. Very quiet.

Near the superb Fleckenstein castle, with shaded areas, fairly level, and very peaceful. We were alone in the evening. Good 4G signal. Excellent night!
