This relatively new rest area lies in the forest beside the busy main road between Bairawies and Bad Tölz. It is set slightly above and back from the road, with occasional cars stopping for a break; traffic becomes quieter after 21h. It is best suited to resting or a short overnight stay, while the uphill forest road may offer more peace but requires suitable weather.

Suitable place but close to the road. We ventured up the forest road to be quieter; it is possible to turn around at the top. Check the weather first: we were worried that descending would be difficult the next morning in the rain, but it was fine. Take your rubbish with you; the place is spotless.
It became quiet at around 9 p.m. Occasionally cars stop for a break; otherwise, it is clean and well located.
Good for one night while passing through or for a break. Ordinary rest area on the main road.
