19 Rue de la Poste, 01500, Ambronay
Been here?
Large, flat abbey parking with open height barriers year-round, ideal for overnight stays. Very quiet, though street lighting remains on until 1 a.m. and school traffic fills the lot by 8:30 a.m. during term time. There is a camera on site. Parking is often available even in summer.

This large, quiet parking area with a shaded side is the perfect place to rest and spend the night after visiting Notre Dame Abbey. The height restriction barriers are left open. Thanks to the municipality of Ambronay.
Perfect for the night. Thanks for providing this kind of parking. Rubbish bin available. Relatively level. Barriers not installed in mid-April. Quiet.
It is really in the town center, close to the road… it slopes… I don’t think so, I’ll stay.
Quiet parking area; we spent the night there on December 26. Great, nothing to complain about.
Very quiet parking at night, two motorhomes. The town lights, which remain on until 1 a.m., did not bother us. However, during the school term the parking area quickly fills up in the morning with parents dropping their children at school at 8:30. But the place is great; I recommend it.
Very good for one night, quiet parking with cameras. The abbey and the village center deserve a look!
Very good for breaking up a long journey and spending the night. The barriers are open. Plenty of spaces even in July. Relatively level. The only possible drawback for some is the lighting, which does not switch off until after 1 a.m.
Perfect for a quiet night. Open, unobstructed view.
Large, level, quiet parking area, perfect for the night.
The barriers are open, and it is a large, quiet and pleasant parking area. Don’t forget to visit the abbey next door. Thanks to the municipality.
Great parking area, barriers open, super quiet and completely alone!!!! Perfect for one night!!!!
Very large parking area, 10 minutes from the motorway exit. Quiet, the barriers were open, ideal for the night.
Abbey parking area; we were lucky because the barriers had not been installed. Shaded and quiet, with no services or bins. Bakery not far away.
We spent a quiet night (top right, last spot) until we discovered 800 ants in the motorhome in the morning; fighting the ants cost us two vacation days. Beautiful location, lights go out at night, nearby road is not bothersome. We warn others and will not return—in fact, it is a shame.
Beautiful place. Public toilets in the park between the town hall and the abbey.
Very good, quiet night. The street lighting stays on. The village is charming and very close by.
Very calm place to stay. We enjoyed it. Only thing is, places are definitely not flat. It is possible park in a way to have flat ground.
If you disregard the incessant noise from the roads surrounding this parking area, yes, it is quiet! It is a shame, as the setting is beautiful.
Very beautiful spot in every respect, for me at least.
