The car park beside the picnic area is currently closed because of forestry work. While it is closed, parking is available in a lay-by 2 minutes along the Bala road, with access to the waterfall via the forestry track. The area has flat parking, stunning views, and a walk to the waterfall.

You can park in the layby 2 minutes along the Bala road whilst the carpark is closed, and access the waterfall along the forestry track. Please leave no trace, some scummers had left toilet paper and their waste on the edge of the parking area!
Car park is now CLOSED due to forrestery commission clearing up all the trees that fell on the road and surrounding areas of the lake
Car park is now open again but you cannot up the left side of the dam/ lake you have to stay on the road with the lake on your left and go past the Bala turning and the car park is on the right ….. all the signs that say no overnight parking are not up as all the trees have fallen over
Great sized car park, coffee van on site £3-£4 each. Car park itself is free. We didn’t stay overnight just used it to walk to the falls but didn’t see any sing prohibiting it
Stayed here ‘off peak’ season, no issues at all. It’s quite a big open car park just off the lakeside road. There is the most amazing waterfall about a miles walk off the car park. Very peaceful spot!
