Beautiful place! Toilet nearby. Just a friendly reminder: if you’re traveling by camper/motorhome, please park in the designated gravel area, not on the grass. Norway’s allemannsretten (“right to roam”) applies to people on foot and tents—not to cars/motorhomes. Nature here is fragile, and this area is on the outskirts of a national park. Please help preserve it by staying in the parking area.
One of the most beautiful places where we have stayed so far. Impressive nature and excellent hiking opportunities directly from the site. There are several parking options nearby and even a permanent toilet building. Highly recommended!Translating
Wonderful views of several glaciers and a starting point for the hike to Austerdalsbreen. The DNT Tungestølen hut is a five-minute walk away and definitely worth visiting. Very curious cows that sniff around the cars—for us, the only negative point.Translating
Just the best camping spot ever. Unbelievable views, flat, safe, private (there’s so much space that you can be pretty fat from all the other campervans). The hikes are stunning and the cows are very friendly (they literally surrounded us after we parked). Remember: it is not free but you have to pay at the entrance of the toll road
There are multiple spots along this road that all have spectacular views and it is so quiet. The hike to the austerdalsbreen glacier is one not to miss, our favourite in Norway. Absolutely amazing place to explore and stay. Worth the drive and the toll cost
Beautiful place, beautiful region. The location is definitely worth the drive! Several lovely spots along the road, as well as a large, broad parking area at the end with access to a toilet. Toll required: 70 NOK for one day, plus 70 NOK for overnight stays. Visit the Tungostølen hut for a drink—a beautiful hut with phenomenal views. We felt as if we were alone in the world.Translating
Lots of space and beautiful views of the glaciers from the parking area. Dry toilets only a few meters away. Extremely quiet, because you have to get there via a 70-kilometer round trip on a dead-end road.Translating
