Unnamed Road, Pietroasa
Been here?
Free open camping area in pastures beside a stream, with cows, sheep and horses roaming nearby and several local restaurants. Recent reports describe multiple spaces, hiking departures and a difficult access road; large motorhomes are not recommended, and weekends can be crowded. There are no toilets or other services on site, the water is unsafe to drink, and the terrain is uneven.

Poor access road. Full of people on weekends, but you can find a spot. Most leave in the evening.Translating
Nice spot, but in July 2026 the camping not free anymore - two ladies and a man came in the morning to get the money for the night (40 RON for 4 in a camper van) - I had problem with it - there were no signs, there are no tolilets
Friends recommended this place to us. It was well worth coming here for the night in our campervan. It’s a bit of a slog getting there, but the place looks brilliant. You can top up your water supply once you’re there.
Clean. Two toilets. Bufets. We spend one night. Cold in the night (we had ice on the car). A lot of people, but ok. Road is ok.
we stay there for one night. no problem. good place. no wood.bring IT.
Very nice place to spend the night under the stars. This is a free open camping place, no services are provided. The terrain is very uneven, and you have to drive around 2.5km on a gravel road in relatively bad condition. The locals don’t seem to mind, and they bring all sorts of vehicles down here. The place is very popular with locals & visitors, and it has two chalets, not a quiet place.
We spent here two lovely days in peace. In april, it wasn't too crowded. The little buffet accepts euro, lei and forint.
Best place ever, love it here. Great trails nearby. Only negative is no toilets.
Beautiful place, but only outside the season. On weekends the meadows and parking area are packed with campers, tents, motorcycles, and everything else. Access is via a gravel road, used by campers and cars alike. There is a local bar, cold beer, and places for campfires. Good base for nearby caves and viewpoints.

We visited it on Saturday hoping to stay for the night. The place was fully packed with everything: cars, vans, trailers and tents. Hundreds of them. Rocky road with cars parked along side making it even more difficult. No shade, no services, surrounding woods full of “mines” and toilet paper. Place probably very good off season but in July we do not recommend.
Love this place. Nice and quiet during the week. Access road is not the best. No toilets so bushes around all covered in sh..t and tissues.
The road down to the camping ground is badly eroded in various places making it impossible to transit with a Motorhome. We stopped 200m down the access road. Very few vehicles passed after dark.
Beware, avoid this place. Young people came to the parking lot all evening to cause trouble. According to the locals, it is like this all year round, and they threw lots of litter on the ground.
