Camping La Playa

Excellent campsite, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were always kind, helpful, and professional. After reading some negative reviews and experiencing it ourselves, one gets the impression that some criticisms are due more to unmet expectations than to actual problems with the facility. For us, it was an absolutely positive experience.

10/10, the most beautiful, cleanest, most modern, and cheapest campsite in all of southern Italy: €31 for a 6 m motorhome for two people! Very welcoming staff. Well located, with the road to cross to go swimming. Pitches under the large olive trees.

We were here last year as well. The facility has continued to develop. Access is fine. Services are available. There is a mini-market on site. The sanitary facilities are new and clean. The owners are excellent. The beach is a five-minute walk away, and the village is about the same distance. We would gladly come again.

Great for the first stop after the long ferry journey and for trips to Palermo; it is a 35-minute train ride to the centre. The site itself is beautifully laid out, with a very modern wash house that is cleaned several times a day. The beach directly in front of the campsite is not very nice, but if you walk 15 minutes along the promenade, you reach a beautiful sandy beach.

Relaxing, shady, and clean. Strategically located for getting around Palermo and visiting the surrounding area.

A truly wonderful motorhome site run with great dedication. The wash house has been completely renovated and is the most modern and cleanest one we had in all of Sicily. The owner is incredibly committed and provides information about Palermo in four languages. Palermo can be reached by train within 30 minutes. Highly recommended!

A beautiful site run with great care and dedication. Very nice pitches, divided into plots and equipped with electricity. New sanitary facilities. Showers with hot water are included, as is a small shop where you can order bread and pizzas. Every evening, the owner provides information in several languages about Palermo and other sights. We would be very happy to come again.

Nice facilities, toilets showers all okay but one shower block is closed making the one remaining very busy. The pitch’s are so close together it feels very claustrophobic and no privacy. As in the last post there are lots of mosquitoes. Good for getting the train into Palermo but it was so busy in Palermo we wished we hadn’t gone. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Good camping. Different sized lots for smaller or larger motorhomes. Facilities are clean and modern. We paid €40 for one night including electricity and shower access. Beach and town relatively close by. Only downside is the mosquitoes, they are everywhere and you will get bitten whatever you try.

Great campsite for having a pitch immediately after the ferry. Ideal for visiting Palermo, which can easily be reached by train; the wonderful family explains everything in German. The shower house is completely new. Hot showers cost extra, although one shower per day is free (3.5 minutes). There is a small shop where you can even order delicious pizza. The beach, however, is very dirty.

We have stayed here several times. Wonderful, quiet site. The olive trees provide shade. The bathrooms are brand new. Of course, they prefer you to book, but we have always found a place without a reservation. With Campcard and tourist tax, €25 for two people plus van. Definitely worthwhile.

For us, one of the best campsites in Sicily. Not because it is perfect—although the sanitary facilities, washing machines, and small corner shop definitely are—but because the owner’s family has lovingly turned this place into an oasis of well-being. Tips for visiting the big city or finding a good fish restaurant are available in four languages! We will definitely come back!

ACSI members get a discount. Nice site with level pitches; quiet; new sanitary facilities; bread-roll service; 300 metres to the sandy beach. Every evening there is information about visiting Palermo. At 8:30 a.m. there is a shuttle service to the station for the trip to Palermo. One shower per day is free; each additional shower must be paid for. Very pleasant! Highly recommended!

Super… ideal for beach and train to Palermo. Campsite gets busy so do book if you can. Lots of shade from olive trees. Spotless modern bathrooms. Shop and pizza onsite, best pistachio croissants we have had (order by 9pm for next morning). All staff lovely. Office staff generous with time and information. Felt so welcome we stayed 5 nights.

The campsite is clean and okay, if you like cosy conditions. Basically, you are asked whether you have booked and told that it is full... but an expensive last little spot can still be found. Nevertheless, several spaces are still free late in the evening.

Good help, very good explanations for visiting Palermo. More than perfect sanitary facilities.

Exceptionally well-run campsite on a long, well-maintained beach promenade. Very good metro connection to Palermo. Everything is explained excellently by the friendly, multilingual owner. The shuttle offered to Monreale, which is well worth seeing, is also excellent, since driving there in your own motorhome is not advisable because of the town’s location and parking situation. Highly recommended!

€28 per person including electricity for two people. Separated pitch marked with a band; generally cramped and with little privacy. New, clean sanitary facilities and hot water for washing dishes. A half-day can be booked additionally for the ferry onward. Ideal for a trip to Palermo (€3 per person). Charming little town with lovely restaurants.

We were turned away today, 12 May, because the campsite is full and we had not reserved. Perhaps this is also related to the public holiday this week. Apparently the low season is over. However, we found a nice spot further north via Park4Night. The app is simply great.

Lovely campsite among the olive trees. The pitches are various sizes, and everything is extremely well maintained and clean! The facilities are really beautiful, new, and fragrant. Hot water for washing dishes, a market, and convenient water filling and waste disposal. The owners may seem a little strict at first, but then you understand that everything works well because they are always careful to ensure the rules are followed.

Campsite on the outskirts of Isola delle Femmine. Easy reservation, with communication possible in German and English. Due to roadworks in the town (as of May 2026), driving directions are provided in advance. Helpful owners, quiet pitches under olive trees, and modern, clean sanitary facilities. Short distances to the town and beach.

A beautiful site with very friendly hosts. Very good information for sightseeing in Palermo. Sanitary facilities very clean.

This site is currently inaccessible because of construction work in the town. We tried it with our Fiat Ducato campervan; there was a maze of one-way streets, it was terrible.

It closes from November to April. Next opening on 1 April.

Great place, ideal for visiting Palermo! The team is incredibly nice, speaks fluent German, and helps with everything—I even received a city map and train information on site. Pitches are nicely shaded under olive trees, sanitary facilities are clean, and there is a small shop with café and snacks. Everything is lovingly maintained—absolutely recommendable, I would gladly come again!

Excellent campsite, easily accessible, pleasantly quiet under the olive trees and by the sea (the beach is a little further away). Beautiful view of the mountains. Fifteen minutes’ walk to the train station. Good train connection to Palermo and even information about the city every evening. Facilities are also fine!

Late check-in was possible due to the delayed arrival of the ferry. About 30 minutes from the port. Quiet site. Everything clean and available. Ideal for a train trip to Palermo. The beach in front of the campsite is currently inaccessible because of construction. Very helpful and friendly hosts.

Perfect for a trip to Palermo. The site is beautifully landscaped. Unfortunately, there is no direct access to the sea because of sharp-edged lava rock. There is also currently a construction site directly in front.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! We have been on the island for two weeks and visited eight campsites, and nowhere else was there a problem with my Swiss residence permit. Only here was it not accepted. Ridiculous.....

We have just left this very pleasant place; the sanitary facilities are spotless. They speak French very well. The lady noticed that I had been overcharged on my bill and called me back to reimburse me, which I found very honest!!! Thanks to the municipality for waiving the tourist tax for people over 65. We received very detailed explanations for taking the train to Palermo. We are 100% delighted.

Very nice site. Sanitary facilities old but clean. One hot shower per day included (3:30 minutes is sufficient). Very friendly reception, with several languages available. The small town is reachable in 10 minutes on foot. Unfortunately, swimming directly in front is not really possible because it is very rocky. About 400 metres farther on there is a great beach for swimming. Unfortunately, the area around the site is very dirty.

The sea has only rocks and you cannot swim. It is not a campsite but a parking area. The person managing it seems eager for you to leave. The town of Isola delle Femmine is very dirty. I do not recommend it!
