New Ross Road, Kilkenny
Been here?
A campsite about 25 minutes’ walk from Kilkenny city centre via a pleasant canal path. Showers are included, and the site has toilets, a games room and some activities for children. Facilities are clean but partly dated, while Wi-Fi is unusable outside the reception area. It is generally peaceful off season, though summer can be noisier.

Fantastic last minute find perfect. Few things for kids to do. Shower and toilet block games room couldn’t fault it. Definitely will be coming again.
Nice campsite in a quiet area with friendly staff. Good facilities. If you have not booked or do not need electricity, they put you on grassy pitches, but the surrounding track is very dusty. You risk eating dust. Otherwise, okay.
Wi-Fi unusable; the signal is inadequate unless you are in the reception hut.
The campsite was nice and we had a good pitch. We came from another campsite and therefore had a full supply of fresh water, had showered, had no rubbish and no grey water. The owner told us that since we were only staying one night, we should use the place to get rid of our waste. We found that very inappropriate. We simply wanted to spend a peaceful night on our way home.
Excellent place to stay with everything you need.
Decent site, hassle-free check-in without a reservation. €40 per night in mid-May 2026 for a motorhome and two adults. Kilkenny city center is within walking distance, with a lovely footpath along the river.
Very friendly welcome! The women's sanitary facilities have been completely renovated—magnificent! Next year, the men's side! Very quiet at this time of year and easy access to the city, about 25 minutes on foot.
Friendly owner and wonderfully quiet in May, especially on the higher pitches. We found the sanitary facilities very outdated, though clean. Showers were hot. Very basic, yet quite expensive.
Very nice owner. Showers are included. Ideal for visiting Kilkenny.
€40 per night for a level pitch with electricity. Water hose available for refilling. The owner is very nice. Very pleasant and quiet setting in the off-season. 25 minutes on foot from the town center.
We stayed here for five nights for the St. Patrick's Day festival. The sanitary facilities are somewhat outdated, but otherwise everything was perfect.
Small, simple and charming campsite with a warm welcome (thank you, Dan, for the smiles!). Clean sanitary block, peaceful night near the horses, at a bargain price (€32 per night for two people in a van). We loved it!
We spent a quiet night there near a field with horses. The campsite has all the necessary amenities; the showers are a little dated.
The location is great. The layout of the site is also very good. You have peace and quiet, but you are not too far from the washrooms and so on. €32 per night for two people with a rooftop tent without electricity is not cheap, but showers are included. One star deducted for the outdated sanitary facilities. At night you occasionally hear the nearby road, but it is not disturbing.
Very well-located campsite, with Kilkenny a little under half an hour's walk away. The sanitary facilities, although somewhat dated, are clean and well maintained.
Friendly staff, nice place with horses and green areas. A little bit of traffic noise towards the front of the park. €40 for a van, 4 adults and no electricity. We had a very pleasant stay.
We spent one night at Tree Grove campsite in a van without electricity (€35). The manager is very welcoming. The campsite is well located, 25 minutes on foot from the castle and 10 minutes by bike. A nature-oriented campsite. Sanitary facilities and showers are rustic but clean. However, the nearby road is very busy and noisy.
Nice location but a little far from the city if you're walking. Clean toilets, free showers. A++
Beautiful campsite at a pleasant distance from the city. All services available. Sanitary facilities and showers are available and clean. Cute ponies in the paddock in the middle of the site.
Good camping, friendly staff, outdated facilities but clean and does the trick. Some white noise can be heard from the street but isn't really a bother. 33 euros for 2 people, a VW van, no electricity (and a dog, but they don't charge for them).
Simple campsite. Lots of greenery, grass and trees. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly owner. We stayed in the overflow area because the campsite was full. A beautiful meadow surrounded by trees, entirely for ourselves. Sanitary facilities are basic, but the shower has strong, pleasantly hot water. Ten minutes by bicycle from the town, mostly along a quiet path beside the canal. About 45 minutes on foot.
Very well located for visiting Kilkenny, warm welcome, but the sanitary facilities are somewhat outdated. Renovation would be welcome, especially considering the price of a pitch.
Got a pitch for my motorhome without a reservation. Toilets and showers are regularly checked and cleaned. Showers have no time limit and pleasantly warm water. Very friendly welcome and helpful service, thank you. Highly recommended.
Friendly welcome. Old sanitary facilities, but hot water included. Very convenient for visiting the city.
Noise from the road. Easy access to Kilkenny via the Canal Way; information available at the campsite reception.
