Peaceful village area, uneven parking

A parking area for the night that could have been nice, but unfortunately we had to turn back because we needed electricity, which is not installed. We had paid in advance, so that money is lost. The area seems abandoned.

We were there on 16 May 2026. Only four stars because there is no electricity. Spacious and convenient parking. The local people were very friendly. We stopped at the village bar and asked where we could buy parsley; they were very kind and gave us some themselves because the shops were closed. Thank you.

Very good parking area; the only drawback is that it is not level, but otherwise excellent! A very peaceful and family-friendly atmosphere, with many families out walking, and €8 including services! Great place—we slept very peacefully, and the village is wonderful.

The pitch itself is perfectly fine for the €8 price. There are enough rubbish bins, toilets in the tourist information office, and the service point is also okay. We stayed two nights for hiking. On the first evening (Saturday, 2 May), the site was hopelessly overcrowded. On the second evening, there was hardly anyone there.

Good evening, a very pleasant parking area. If you have not registered online, simply go to the tourist office next door to register. A charming French-speaking person will give you all the information you need for a pleasant stay. For those who enjoy hiking, there is plenty to do. Otherwise, there is a very nice medieval town to visit.

An area where reservations are useless even if you have one. We could not enter because there were so many people, so we stayed outside alongside about 20 other motorhomes. It has all the services. A good place to walk around the town and rest.

Privileged surroundings, beautiful views, tranquility, and I appreciate that they make things easy for camper users.

First of all, a big round of applause for all those people who bring out tables and chairs despite the explicit prohibition (all it takes is a minimum of reading comprehension). In general, the area is quite good, with a slight slope, but nothing that cannot be solved if you are properly equipped. Very close to the village and with all the necessary services for filling water and emptying black and grey tanks.

Very good area for visiting the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. We stayed two nights and it was perfect: plenty of space and a peaceful atmosphere. There is even a hose for filling water. The only thing missing is electricity. €8 per night, paid through the town council's website (QR code at the entrance). There is also a tourist office.

We spent a fabulous night. Super-quiet surroundings, and the facilities were excellent. You must not miss visiting the village of Santa Pau—it is incredible! A place to return to!

For now, they only have water services; they are working on installing electricity. Google Maps sends you to another address, so do not trust it. Spend the night at the end of the esplanade.

We spent two flawless nights. Lovely village with lots of hiking to do; the tourist office was excellent for information.

If this is a motorhome site, they still have a lot to learn. It is terrible: earth, mud, fine gravel, and not level. No view at all. The only thing that works perfectly is paying through the app. I did not even feel like visiting the village, the motorhome site was so disappointing.

Not calm at all. I am not sure what is happening today; there are at least 30 campers and constant noise. The services are working (grey water, black water and drinking water). I am not staying the night.

Very peaceful area, next to the village and with services. Three minutes away you have the tourist office with toilets and a pizzeria. Recommended if you want a peaceful place with hiking opportunities.

We had a safe and quiet night. The site is not completely level, so we used leveling blocks. The online reservation went smoothly, and I am happy to pay €8 for this place. Minor drawback: the toilet-dump collector is awkwardly positioned right next to the tap for clean water, with a hose attached to it as well. Well-intentioned, but not very hygienic. Use your own hose.

€8 to spend the night legally. Possibility of emptying and filling water, accessible to everyone. Visit the village of Santa Pau, a five-minute walk away, and many hiking trails.

A stop for one night in a motorhome. Very good. No electricity or black-water dumping for the toilet. But it seems to be under construction and being improved. Perfect in winter for warming up in the sun. No shade in summer. A small bonus would be Wi-Fi access via a QR code (the tourist office is nearby, so extending the network would not be impossible). A very nice place to park; the village is beautiful and well maintained. We coincided with the living nativity scene, which is highly recommended. There is a bus to La Fageda, which was beautiful—€2 return. You have to pay through the town council's website. Thank you, Santa Pau!

Excellent area—it now also has a place to empty black water, grey water and rubbish containers. They may be installing more lights or electrical points (we saw construction work, pipes being laid, etc.). €8 is paid through the website accessed via QR code.

Grey-water service and water filling. There are rubbish and recycling containers. The village and surroundings are fantastic. Good area overall; it needs improvement and a black-water dumping facility. It would be better to mark the spaces, since people do not always park correctly. It is very full on weekends.

A good initiative, although it can still be greatly improved. The spaces are not marked, and combined with the lack of civility of some people, you can imagine the result. The dumping areas appear to be temporary and apparently have been under construction for years (they have their own hose, which is a great detail). The village is very beautiful and full of interesting details.

I have just tried three times to make a reservation through the website. Three times it displayed an error. I find it incredibly annoying when something like this does not work. Payment via a simple parking meter would be desirable. We will now look for another place, as it is too uncertain whether an overnight stay is possible.

We only visited the tourist information office. It was a great decision. They recommended magnificent routes for the short time we were going to spend in the area. We took the opportunity to fill up with water and empty the tanks. Many thanks to the town council for this facility.

I think it is a very good initiative, and it brings a lot of life to the village and its businesses. I arrived in the afternoon with my reservation, but the designated area was full, so I had to park outside, where parking is supposedly prohibited. It would be great to have a barrier since the reservation uses a QR code, or for the area to be properly divided so the spaces are clear.

The ground is not very firm and the area is noisy (road traffic, animals, and teenagers fooling around and skidding on their motorcycles). Although I support contributing to the upkeep of this type of parking area, the price is excessive for what is offered.

Paid motorhome area (€8/night) in Santa Pau. Pros: • Excellent location and surroundings (close to the village but far enough away to maintain privacy; starting point for several routes). • Spacious and level. • Although it consists of gravel and dirt, it is stable and compact; it does not become muddy. • Water services under construction (grey, black and drinking water). Cons: • Access could be improved.

We stopped for two nights, very close to the parking areas for Croscat Volcano and Santa Margarida. The village has a supermarket, pharmacy and more. It allows overnight stays in great tranquility.

We used the parking area only during the day; we visited the village and the springs route. Shops sell local products. There is a toilet, picnic area and water. You can stay overnight for €8.

Very quiet night. The €8 price is too much for vans that do not use the services, but it is appreciated that they think of us in a region with very few areas. We spent money in the village on some good cured meats.

An area with beautiful mountain views. You have to drive all the way to the end; that is where the camper area is. The only bad thing is that the toilets are far away, opposite the tourist office. There are no showers. €8 seems reasonable to me if it helps maintain the area and complete all the services.

Price: €8 via the website. Area in the middle of the countryside. Clean, with grey-water and fresh-water facilities. Level ground. Right next door there is a food truck making delicious pizzas, “Pizza Di Baletta.” The village is three minutes away and very beautiful! We will definitely return. A very practical area for stopping in the evening after sightseeing or hiking. We spent two nights there. Reasonable price for sleeping in a natural park, especially compared with the price of a fine. I agree with one of the reviews: €8 can help the municipality develop the site. Water filling, wastewater dumping and toilet emptying are opposite the tourist office, which is open 24/7. That is also good for van travelers.

Great place; we were alone in this area. €8 is reasonable, and our contribution will help the municipality make further improvements in the future. Five minutes from the lovely village center. A happy Frenchman!

There is a grey-water dumping and water-filling facility. It is true that the service area is somewhat narrow and inconvenient, but it is still being developed. According to the signs, all the money collected will go toward improving it, and you can see that they have been expanding things over the months. The rest of the area is quite spacious, although more shade would be welcome. The village is a must-see.

We spent a perfect weekend, peacefully next to the old town. A lovely area to enjoy with all kinds of bicycles. There are fresh-water and grey-water facilities.

It is very well maintained and has some services, with lots of peace and quiet.
