Quiet reservoir, severe midges

Lovely little spot! Very quiet and great for large motor homes too. Stayed overnight and were the only ones there apart from a couple of passing vehicles. Absolutely no phone signal though, great to disconnect!

Beautiful place to stop during the descent through the valley or earlier/later in the year, BUT when we were there in mid-June, everything was full of midges in the evening. Thousands of tiny biting flies swarmed around and came through every gap in the van. We had to drive on in the middle of the night, along winding roads in fog and with narrow lanes—it was quite an adventure.✦Translating

Marking it a 5 star due to the remote beauty of this place. We had the luck to have clear sky and it was absolutely stunning. That said during the night the wind nearly took us and our motorhome was shaking due to the gust of winds pushing into us.

Amazing little spot, quiet with a very small level of traffic during the day. Went for a dip in the reservoir and spent one night here with no issues. Very clean and peaceful, please leave no trace!

Extraordinary location. There is of course nothing there. No signal even to make a phone call (O2), no bins. The B Road does seem to be a thoroughfare and some large trucks do pass by. I would recommend entering from the Dam end rather than driving from Talybont. There's a sketchy bit of road, in saying that many people use it. We loved it here. It is super peaceful. Be prepared for midges!

Stunning views, small fire pit at location. You have access to the water, though I think swimming is not allowed. Saw absolutely no-one the entire evening. No cell reception.

It’s beautiful here. A security bloke drive up about 10am asking whether we’d stayed overnight. Allegedly they’d put up notices (and some of the local motocrossers have taken them down) as it’s a reservoir and there shouldn’t be any over nighting. Really quiet night and mega views though.
