This is a free parking area in Pontassieve, suitable for taking the train to Florence, about 15 minutes away. A good place to stop and visit Florence. The small bay at the end does not look very appealing, but you can stop in the earlier spaces. We slept for two nights and felt safe leaving the van alone all day.
perfect safe place to stay and catch to train to visit Florence. Fresh water fill tap and waste disposal at the end of road. Stayed overnight and caught the early train €3.90 to Florence.
Good stopover for one night as in transit to Florence. Safe and quiet even being so close to main road. You can get water from the tap located on the wall, on right hand side of the end of parking lot.
It exists as a parking area, but the supposed black-water drain is full of stones and dirt, and the grey-water drain is closed. The taps do not work either.
Warning. Today, May 19, 2024, the facilities are closed. There is no water and disposal is not possible.
