A40, LD3 8PJ, Brecon
Been here?
This large free A40 lay-by is convenient for an overnight stop, with toilets open all night and a short walk to a river. The toilets were clean during the latest stay, and a roadside cafe opened at 10. The road became busy from about 5am, and there are not many level places.

We stayed 1 night. Quiet until 5ish then road became busy. Toilets were clean. Roadside cafe opened at 10. Not too many level places.
Great place to pull over, with options for staying overnight. Toilets are free and very basic. It looks like there is a café wagon open on weekdays?
Tarmac is pretty rough but easy enough to find a level spot. Toilets are pretty grim which is to be expected from public restrooms lol, nevertheless they serve their purpose. Nice short walk to a lovely river. Was pretty quiet overnight, would recommend!
Same as the previous review: great spot and our first park-up in our new camper, so a great success.
Fantastic large free to park layby with toilets open all night and cleaned by local authorities while we stopped over, great little cafe open from about 8am and a lovely walk down to a river. Quiet for an A road, very convenient spot for venturing out on The Brecon Beacons.
Travelling into the night with 2 little ones. Ideal spot to stop to sleep. Toilets to use, lovely little walk down to the river bank in the morning. Food van open in the morning if you need. Road not too noisy. Thumbs up from us
Loverly spot for a brief stop. Would be a bit too noisy for an overnight. But more than adequate. The toilets were still a bit rough too.
Toilets are not in great condition. There is a short walk down to the river below which is quite beautiful. Next to a busy road. You can stay over night if you want, I have decided not to.
