31 Malerweg, 4830, Hallstatt
Been here?
This is a quiet private parking place near Hallstatt, the river and waterfalls, available for a donation and suitable for hiking. Hallstatt is about 20min away on foot, and overnight stays are generally peaceful. Motorhomes should arrive between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.; daytime access can be difficult when the nearby parking is full. The road can narrow to 2.2 m, so large motorhomes may not be able to reach the site.

We did not reach this place. At one point the road narrows to 2.2 m wide—too narrow for our 7.5 m-long motorhome. We had to reverse.
Many thanks for this great place. We arrived early, at 10 a.m., and there were still two pitches available, including shaded ones. Not everything is level, but it is manageable. We had a wonderfully quiet night. Arriving in the evening is no problem either, but during the day it is difficult when P2 is full because the road is blocked. Great hiking area and a cool spot by the glacier stream. Please remember to put something in the donation box.
Very peaceful place near the village. Many other cars slept here with us. During busy hours it is difficult to get here, but by evening it is fine. We highly recommend it.
Quite safe and very cool at night, not to mention very quiet. No one charges anything.
We stayed here twice: once during the week, when it was completely quiet and we slept here with one other vehicle, and once over a long weekend, when the car park was full. Otherwise, it is a quiet place by the river and waterfalls. Payment is voluntary.
Very beautiful place. 20 minutes on foot from Hallstatt, with splendid hiking trails nearby. Very quiet at night; there were only three vans and two cars staying overnight. Payment by donation.
Beautiful spot in the countryside between the mountains, based on donations. Well hidden. We only stayed here during the day because we had to go home, but we would have loved to stay overnight.
Access via Malerweg was completely trouble-free.
A very nice place to stay while exploring Hallstatt. I spent the night here with three other campers. Thank you for making this possible!
This place can no longer be reached by motorhome. Motorhomes are now only allowed to drive through Hallstatt. The motorhome parking area is actually at the campsite, which is closed in winter. The bus parking area may not be used, nor may the car parking area. An official emphatically pointed out all these rules and prohibitions to us in a harsh tone. Avoid it.
A well hidden place.
great place to park for a night, we stayed there in mid December and it was very icy but still accessible
Perfect location, amazing place for sleeping in the car or just parking. Walking distance from the town. Parking for voluntary donation.
Perfect location, use "Malerweg" for easy access
Thanks for the location! We had a nice and quiet night here.
Parking without services. A good option for visiting Hallstatt (~2.5 km) or exploring the nearby trails. Contribution in the box at the entrance. We spent a peaceful night. The road is narrow, but we got through without problems. Ideally arrive before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. to find a space.
We spent two very peaceful nights here. We definitely recommend hiking to the waterfalls, and for anyone wanting to walk farther, to Wiesberghaus. Access via Malerweg is prohibited for motorhomes and cars with trailers. We arrived in the evening and had no problems. There is a donation box at the entrance; please contribute so the parking area can remain available.
Very peaceful and quiet place for spending the night. We definitely recommend visiting the nearby waterfalls.
A really great place to spend the night. There were many other people staying overnight with us.
Perfect place.
We were forbidden from entering the street. The gentleman kindly invited us to go to the campsite and told us that the place was private.
