14 Dammgasse, 65428, Rüsselsheim am Main
Been here?
A free, marked motorhome parking area directly beside the Main, with riverside views, a playground and walks or cycling towards Mainz. Cafés, bakeries, restaurants and a brewery are only a few minutes away. The location is beneath Frankfurt Airport’s flight path, and recent stays also report loud parties, vehicle noise, horns and glass containers near the spaces. Cars may occupy some motorhome bays, especially at busy times.

Everything already mentioned by all the users who have stayed here. A shame, because the place is very pleasant, but I do not recommend it.
Arrived Friday at 9:30 p.m. and drove away again five minutes later. The location is great, but there were many foreigners who gave off unpleasant smells. The motorhome spaces were partly blocked by cars. Despite our dogs, our gut feeling told us to move on. What a shame.
Thanks to the city for this beautiful free pitch directly on the Main and the cycle path to Mainz. We do not understand the complaints. Of course, it was a weekend with a wine festival, and Morocco had won at the football World Cup. Accordingly, there were car horns and celebrating people. Anyone who dislikes that should stay outside the city at weekends.
This is not a motorhome pitch but an imposition! Noisy youths, car show-offs, massive noise from horn concerts, and on top of that the glass containers were thoughtfully placed directly in front of the motorhomes. Sleeping was impossible. Cars occupy the spaces, and in the evening they park between the motorhomes. Even for a free place, this is unacceptable.
Noisy youths, massive noise from the airport flight path, and, thoughtfully, a glass container placed directly beside the motorhomes. Sleeping was impossible. Pure horror!
Beautiful campsite in a wonderful location by the water. It can sometimes be a little noisy, but overall it is not too bad. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful view make up for a lot. Certainly a pleasant place to stay.
The location is very good to good, the pitches are not small at all, and I find the one-star reviews a little unfair.
Not recommended! It is dirty and noisy. Car show-offs and other criminals show particularly little consideration here. Noise until 4 a.m. The “village youths” threaten people and cause damage.
We stayed here from Friday to Saturday. In any case, thanks to the city for the free pitch with a view of the Main. We had no aircraft noise at all; apparently planes took off and landed in the opposite direction that day. Unfortunately, there was partying into the night and rubbish left directly in front of our motorhome while we were out eating. Afterwards, it was once again blamed on the motorhome users.
The aircraft noise is bearable; the later it gets, the fewer planes fly. However, at 10:30 p.m. music was suddenly turned up loudly and a group of people talked loudly and celebrated. Even the beautiful view and the fact that the pitch is free do not make up for that.
First of all, thanks to the city of Rüsselsheim—the site is genuinely well located! We arrived for the second time at around 6 p.m., and there were still enough spaces available. The car show-offs only come later, and we did not find it particularly noisy. We come from Cologne, so we are used to different levels of noise. We did not consciously notice any aircraft noise.
As it was already late, we wanted to get the last remaining free pitch. However, it was occupied by a modified BMW. Looking into the car—we wanted to point out that it was a motorhome pitch—we saw a junkie inhaling laughing gas from a balloon. He told us to get lost. Apparently he had already driven people away.
A very beautiful place, close to the shopping street and cafés, but the evening and nighttime peace are unbearable. Cars drive around with young people playing loud music late into the night, even during the week. I would not want to be there at the weekend. Best wishes, Wolfgang.
The pitch is good during the day. Overnight it is impossible: loud music, cars racing back and forth, and aircraft noise, though that is to be expected. What a shame—the pitch on the Main could be so lovely!
A designated motorhome spot that was occupied by vans and cars. But the worst part is that these people relieve themselves in the surrounding area and use the glass recycling containers as rubbish bins for residual waste. Absolutely unacceptable!!
We stopped here around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday to spend the night. It was still very busy and correspondingly noisy. The next morning everything was quiet and the planes were barely audible. For one overnight stay with a late arrival, the place was fine.
Lots of NOT german speaking people, showing off with there cars och play loud music in the cars, so noisy. Right now the time is 23.15 on a wednesday. Not a Police or nothing around. On the spaces for the motorhomes, disrespectful people park there cars if you not placed so they not can come in. On time and never again....
Actually wonderfully located on the Main, but car show-offs and aircraft noise every few minutes from 5:00 a.m. A disaster. Never again!!!! You are better off staying at the motorway service area.
Not recommended on Saturday because it is absolutely wild here! Very loud music from a nearby venue and an incredible number of car show-offs! Lots of teenagers celebrating the weekend. Probably also due to the warm weather. The site itself is okay. No services for filling or emptying. Aircraft noise is negligible. We'll see what the night brings.
I spent a really quiet night here. Perhaps the parties take place mainly at the weekend? The pitches are huge; you are practically right on the Main and can quickly walk into the city center.
Great location; there were no show-offs or cars blocking spaces for us. Of course, there is aircraft noise, but it is bearable.
So-called 'car show-offs' are a major nuisance here and they do not want to 'just play'. I was clearly threatened here by minors (flat tires, a brick thrown at the solar panel, scratching the motorhome, etc.) because I was supposedly interfering with the businesses of 'their brothers'. If you stay, the 'brothers' park their car directly next to the motorhome and play 'music'. They behave aggressively...
We were lucky and, fortunately, it was relatively quiet at night. However, the place really does have a reputation among local residents for partying or drifting cars there at night. No planes fly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., and from 8 p.m. there was already much less air traffic. The location on the Main is excellent and you can go for good walks. Overall okay for one night for self-sufficient vehicles and, with a bit of luck like us, also quiet.
The site itself is good and free. The fortress is within walking distance and worth seeing. View of the Main. Deducting stars because of cars arriving and leaving late in the evening, followed by busy air traffic in the morning.
Okay for one or two nights; there is not much aircraft noise in the morning. There were no teenagers with their cars during the week. The site itself gets dirty when it rains because of the fine sand in the parking area. We ate in town at Pizza Boy; it was delicious and good value for money.
The location on the Main is very beautiful and it is also clean. The city center is easily reachable on foot. The aircraft noise is quite intense. It only decreases around 10 p.m. and then becomes quiet; from 6 a.m. the aircraft noise increases again. But it is okay for one night.
Many thanks to the city of Rüsselsheim. Beautifully located motorhome site on the banks of the Main. We had a very peaceful night. The car show-offs do their thing in the adjacent car park in the evening, but you should not let that bother you. They 'just want to play'. It was quiet at night. Unfortunately, there are no filling or emptying facilities. Otherwise it would be five stars. We would happily come again.
