Right on the pass for an overnight stay—how special is that? At 2,496 meters altitude. There are barely any facilities and no electricity, but if you are self-sufficient, that is no problem. Getting up early to watch the sunrise is wonderful. The Italian bar has a pleasant atmosphere and good food. In the warmer months, you can visit the Saint Bernard dog museum on the pass, which also tells the history. Adventurous and free.

If you are lucky enough, as we were, to get a place by the lake, it is paradise on earth, with magnificent scenery. There are superb hikes, a museum to visit, and the restaurant just two meters away. What more could you ask for?

Perfect! It can be a little chilly in the evening. We were asked to leave at 9 a.m. to make room for restaurant guests. Beautiful place!

Extraordinary place, the absolute must is to stop for supper and taste the excellent local dishes, before a digestive walk, you can also pay a visit to the saint Bernard dog museum with the famous Barry…. By the way the parking belongs to the restaurant….

We arrived at around 9 p.m. Despite the kitchen officially being closed, we were still given something to eat. The price-performance ratio is excellent; the food was delicious and incredibly inexpensive. The staff are friendly, and the dining room is rustic with a fireplace. The pitch offers a very beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The road is somewhat adventurous, but absolutely recommended!

Good, quiet place by the lake. Campers are parked very close together, making it difficult to move and maneuver. Activity continued in the car park until late. You have to order something at the restaurant. Level ground.

We settled quietly in the parking area behind the restaurant. Calm, with a very beautiful view of the lake.

Scandalous. Restaurant customers staying overnight caused absolute chaos at 1 a.m. in front of the restaurant: young people in cars with extremely loud music, dancing and shouting without any respect! The restaurant owners did absolutely nothing and were outside smoking. There is no respect anywhere in this magnificent place! We will never return to this restaurant or its car park, which they demand people leave at 9 a.m. In that case, at least let people sleep!

Site with a beautiful view of the lake. You should ask at the restaurant and eat something there—it is not only very good but also genuinely inexpensive. Booking a table is recommended.

Magnificent place to spend the night. We asked for permission and had dinner at the restaurant, which was very good. There is a spring of drinking water from the mountain nearby. You must leave before 9 a.m.

Great simple food, very reasonable prices, recommend to book. Flat parking, beautiful views. Leave by 9am.

July ‘24. We never slept here but on the night we stayed in this location there were about 7 MHs. It’s the car park for the local bar/restaurant. We checked the menu and it was reasonably priced but we had other plans for food so stayed on the parking area beside the lake close by. The whole area is crazy busy with day trippers till about 4pm. Fantastic views close by.

The bar owner allows people to stay overnight. Of course, we had dinner at the restaurant, which was excellent. What a view! Breakfast at picnic tables. We will return!

Everything was great; we are very satisfied. Excellent food and free parking by the lake. We will return when we pass through here again. Recommended place.

I spent a quiet night here and, of course, ate at the Bar au Lac. At the moment there are remnants of snow on the other parking areas up here.

Dream location for spending a night out of season. There were more than ten vehicles; I imagine it must be packed in midsummer. The lakeside restaurant is a culinary gem, with incredible value for money. We had a wonderful time. I recommend it.
