Camping Fare Kalamata is a small, simple campsite among olive trees, close to the beach and near several beach restaurants. The sea is about 100 m away or a two-minute walk, and a bus stops outside for Kalamata, while Lidl is about 5 minutes by bike. Facilities include clean but ageing sanitary areas, hot showers, cooking equipment, fridge and freezer, and a washing machine for €1. Pitches are short and sometimes uneven, Wi-Fi is weak at the rear, and electricity has been reported not to meet European standards.

Its main merit is that it exists. The toilets are clean, but there are no urinals. Washing machines are fine, but there is no dryer. Many caravans and their year-round annexes. Electricity does not meet European standards. The water-fill flow is weak. Grey-water drainage requires good aim! This campsite deserves renovation.Translating
It's a very simple campsite but location good. Just two minutes to the beach, supermarket around the corner and you can walk to the city center.
Ideal place as a stopover or for exploring the area. Within walking distance of the beach. Washing machine for €1, which is unbeatable. The site is generally very inexpensive. We ended up staying three nights.Translating
Nice owner, site located near the sea. The sanitary facilities are somewhat dated. The food in the adjacent restaurant was not great.Translating
Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. I paid €12 a night for one person and one van which is unbelievable value. Great location - one hour walk to Kalamata, the beach is just across the street. Very friendly staff and good facilities. Laundry costs €1! I couldn’t believe it!! Thank you to the campsite.
We had booked two nights and were completely satisfied. Contact during the reservation worked perfectly, the staff were very nice, and the showers were hot, as previously described. Yes, the site is simple, but everything is available. The complaining by some campers is really incomprehensible. Since it is the only site here, you can surely check the location beforehand.Translating
We have all we need. 18 euros without electricity. Good showers and fridge and freezer, you can also cook. we got a big place with shade from trees. Beach just in front, many taverns in beach. go to the farmer market Wednesday or Saturday
Beautiful natural campsite. Not everything is lined up perfectly. Sanitary facilities okay. The beach is only 100 m away across the road or through the underpass (when there is no water from the mountains). Fair price. Bus directly in front of the campsite, €1.50 to the city. Nice owners. I recommend booking in advance, as it is often full because it is almost in the city center.Translating
We stayed here for two nights. €36 for two adults with an L2H2 Ducato. It is possible to run two washing machines at the same time. €1 per hour, €2 for two hours. All pitches are somewhat sloped, so leveling blocks are necessary. Wi-Fi reception is good at the front and poor at the back. Toilets and showers are perfectly fine. The sea is 100 m from the vehicle. Nice!Translating
We did not spend the night here. All the pitches are very small and tightly packed, but it is still possible with a motorhome if you do not mind being close to others. Friendly welcome, and it is possible to empty the toilet and grey water and fill up with water for €10 in this season.Translating
Unfortunately, a rating is not possible: we arrived today, April 24, at around 7:30 p.m. without a reservation. Because of our 7 m length, there was no space left—what a shame. So it is better to reserve in advance, although reservations are only possible for at least two nights. We ultimately ended up at a parking area near the harbor.Translating
Small, individual campsite in Kalamata. Relatively freestyle, but very charming. Spacious sanitary facilities, reasonably clean. Cheap washing machine, no dryer. All services available. Ideal for a few days or as a stopover. There are also permanent campers. About €25 with electricity for two people in March 2026. The city itself is very modern and known for its popular Kalamata olives.Translating
Arrived during the Easter weekend. Very welcoming and friendly manager. The sanitary facilities are clean with hot water. Direct access to the beach. The pitches are well defined but somewhat tight. We paid €17 for two adults and a 4x4 for one night.Translating
We came for Easter and spent three days at €30 per night for a motorhome, two adults, two children, and electricity. + Close to the beach, relatively clean. Close to the city, especially if you have bicycles. Good welcome. - Average facilities. The general surroundings could be improved.Translating
Beautiful campsite directly on the promenade. The owners are very nice. The sanitary facilities are clean and hot water is available. Unfortunately, it rained during our visit; otherwise, the beach is lovely for swimming. We paid €17 for a camper without electricity and two people.Translating
Useful campsite for visiting Kalamata and surrounding area. A bit messy, building works going on, and some noise in the evening from residential blocks nearby. Showers and toilets okay, not spotless, but plenty of hot water, toilet paper and hair dryer. Motorhome service area okay. The best bit: bus stop to city centre in front of the campsite and a good supermarket next door. Car hire possible.
The campsite is fine and has everything you need.Translating
Not even worth one star. Absolutely awful. We arrived at 9 p.m. and were turned away. We had driven 200 km because this was the only open site. Friends had already stayed here, but that did not matter. We were willing to pay for the night, but he was not interested. Apparently, he does not need to earn money in the off-season. In 20 years of traveling, we have never experienced anything like this.Translating
It was already fairly full, but there were still small spots where my 5.5 m van fitted, costing only €11 per night! Reasonably clean sanitary facilities with toilet paper, soap, and unlimited hot water. Very friendly staff. Lovely beach, shop next to the campsite, Lidl a 15-minute walk away. Good Wi-Fi at reception. Washing machine good and cheap! €0.50 per 30 minutes. We had pizza delivered—what more could you want!Translating
The only campsite in the area open during this low season. Quick and nonchalant welcome. We felt we were bothering them. The sanitary facilities badly need cleaning. Services are operational, but the pitches are small. For the same price as one night, we have experienced much better in Greece.Translating
Not the campsite for nitpicking people with high standards/budgets. but for budget friendly ones the functionality is there for that one night stop to do all the services for appropriate price (16€ for 1person,van,electricity) and cheap laundry (0.50€ - 2.00€ depending on the length of the cycle. coin operated)clean toilets with paper and hand towels, unlimited hot shower. 1negative-construction
We were very disappointed: a very poorly maintained site, unfortunately the only campsite in the city.Translating
Construction work is currently taking place at the campsite. It starts at 8:30 a.m. and it is constantly noisy. The sanitary facilities are clean but old. The receptionist was very nice and still found a place for us. We paid €18 for two people without electricity. In high season it would be €20. Unfortunately, there are no alternatives in Kalamata.Translating
We ultimately stayed here for five nights. Nice campsite with everything you need. Yes, the sanitary facilities are somewhat outdated and not 100% clean, but more than adequate. Supermarket next to the campsite, promenade with restaurants a 2 km walk away. Kalamata center is about 4 km away and easily accessible by bicycle. €18 for two people without electricity, camper 7 m.Translating
A really great site with everything you need, friendly hosts, a great price, lovely pitches, and pleasant permanent campers! We feel very comfortable and have to disagree with the previous post: the site is almost full, and there is currently no room for such large vehicles—or rather trucks. Besides, I do not understand why someone rates a place they do not know.Translating
Two planned nights became four. Close to the sea; the bus reaches the city center very quickly. We think €20 for a van including electricity, or €17 without electricity for two people, is fair. Showers and sanitary facilities clean. Laundry costs €0.50–€1. Great!
Good campsite opposite the sea (just cross the promenade), few toilets and showers but clean and decent, washing machine €1, personal requests accommodated, fair price (rare in Greece). This is the twentieth campsite to host me in Greece; excellent value for money! Note: I have a travel agency and travel for work.
Lovely relaxed campsite in a convenient location opposite the beach. We were there weekend 31/10 - 2/11 and it was very quiet and peaceful. Great value at 22€ a night. The bus into Kalamata stops right outside. Good supermarket just next door. We were very happy and will return.
Simple but lovely site. Sanitary facilities old but clean. Very nice owner. €18 without electricity for two people and a camper is also good. Beach directly opposite. Supermarket right around the corner, less than two minutes away. Lidl is a little farther. Mostly pleasant permanent campers.
Friendly owners. Spacious showers with hot water. Not expensive: €18 for a camper van and two people without electricity. Very quiet, including at night. Easy cycling route to the city and a supermarket almost next door.
Beautiful location for exploring Kalamata by bus, bicycle, or on foot. Friendly welcome; sanitary facilities somewhat dated but okay.
Very friendly welcome. Campsite directly opposite the sea and a long seafront promenade for a superb walk. Clean toilets and showers. Washing machine €1. Pitch for a utility vehicle with table and chairs: €11 per day without electricity. Electricity depending on vehicle size: €2 for a van, €5 for a motorhome.
The campsite is great, especially for a city campground. A bus stops right in front every 15 minutes, and there’s a supermarket just a 3-minute walk away. Facilities are clean, but there are only two showers and two toilets per gender for the entire upper area, so there can be a short wait in the morning, still totally fine though. Friendly staff and overall a good experience. 6.20x2.10x3.30
Extremely poorly maintained campsite.
Quiet campsite at an excellent price. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean showers.
Extremely noisy campsite. There is a nearby venue with very loud music until late at night. It is not the staff's fault, but it is impossible to sleep. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired. 5 km from the center. City beach on the other side of the road. Not recommended.
It is more like a simple gravel parking area than a campsite. You have to cross the road to reach the beach. At the entrance there is a restaurant with a children's playground, which guests may use. The bus stop is directly in front of the site. €1.50 per adult takes you directly into the city. Sanitary facilities clean, staff friendly.
Very noisy; bottles of water were thrown from outside onto the campers in the middle of the night, with shouting and rowdiness. Somewhat neglected. Good welcome!
The best things are the pleasant reception, easy access to beach and free beach loungers. The site itself is messy, a bit like a car park. The whole place needs renovating. Also in mid June (midweek) the music and noise from the next door hotel was really loud.
