Waterside parking, keep turning bay clear

Great spot, woke to watch the Summer Solstice sunrise to the sound of the waves on the rocks. Very quiet, few dog walkers, Police patrol at 8pm and last bus at about 10.30. This is the start of the Kilchattan Bay Circular walk which is stage one of the West Island Way so fills up on a nice day. Would definitely stay again.

Nice park up, only ones here, nice and quiet, great views and great fishing too.

Great little spot, easily fit 3 big motor homes in the car park and 2 smaller vans at the side of the road. Heavily patrolled by police who drive down every few hours so feels really safe and bins on site with a toilet a few hundred metres away.

Perfect setting right on the banks of Firth of Clyde/Sound of Bute. Amazing views. Peaceful at night, regular buses during the day turning just a bit further on - don't block that area. Reasonably flat. Good Internet. One small waste bin. Only room for 3 - Get there early!

Lovely views from an almost level gravel parking bay. Keep going past the houses, gown the single road, parking is on the left. No need to arrive late and leave early as it's away from housing. There are two wheelie bins along this stretch of road. Further back down the road, there is a concrete pier where you can hire single/twin kayaks, paddle boards and wetsuits but the hour.

Quiet road, good parking spot on gravel. When we arrived it was full, so we parked up on the wide grass verge (fully off the road) just before it, by sea wall, which worked fine. There's space for possibly two more campers here.

Very nice small parking - great views and a coastal path around the south end of the island. Busy during the day with the walkers, so shouldn’t park more than one camper here. Very quiet at night. Weak phone signal.

A lovely quiet spot. I was there last night and I was the only one parked there. walks start right there. Kilchaytan is a lovely little village nearby with a toilet at it's small marina.

Very quiet site. Good distance away from housing. Very close to the water and lovely views over the Clyde. Good walks nearby. BT /EE not good and Vodaphone hit and miss. Good TV reception. Late night bus 10:30pm and early morning 8am

A beautiful nights stay with plenty of walks for the dogs , great fishing, paddle boarding and wild swimming. Relaxing watching the wildlife, a really friendly crow trying its luck to look pitiful . A waste bin but only that so you need to be self sufficient. Fab local toilets ( always leave a contribution as it’s maintained by the community) up the road . Bring your binoculars . Saw porpoises.

We spent the night at this location. Very quiet apart from the late bus at 10:30pm. Also just back up the road are excellent loos, with provision’s for all the ladies needs. Lovely coastal path right by.

beautiful spot! costal path walk which was so pretty. little post office with a cafe and public toilet down the road from car park. we did one night and slept well.

One of the loveliest places we have stayed. At the end of a no through road by a bus turning circle. No noise apart from the sea. Perfect. On our own for the night we stayed. Good tv signal and 4G

Quiet spot and great views, relatively busy until locals have walked their dogs, waste bin now on site, public toilets and great little tea room short walk along the seafront, great tea and haggis sandwich, and they allow well behaved adults with a supervising dog.

Perfect spot: space for four vans parked at 90 deg to the rocky beach. This spot is well away from the last houses at the start of the West Island Way, so from here you can walk a trail along to the lighthouse and back (views over Arran), or walk the complete 8km circle. There’s a bin and 4G on Vodafone. The public loo is about 800m away along at the village. Very quiet at night.
