Camí Font de la Closa, AD700, Escaldes-Engordany
Been here?
A free 6-pitch motorhome area above Escaldes-Engordany, steep road up with hairpin bends but manageable for most vans. Set among a picnic/BBQ area popular with locals by day, it's usually quiet at night despite occasional weekend noise. Facilities include a spring water tap, chemical toilets (sometimes dirty or unusable), a black-water dump, bins and picnic tables. No electricity. Access can be tricky or blocked by snow/ice in winter; a nearby overflow car park often has extra space. Great base for hiking, including the walk to Lake Engolasters.

Good area for sleeping, with a barbecue and picnic area, a fountain, and a public toilet. Within walking distance of the tourist information hut, from where a free shuttle bus leaves for Lake Engolasters every 15 minutes. At the very back there is the camping area.
Top location with beautiful walks, peace and quiet, and all amenities.
Good place for six motorhomes. If there is no space there, in front of the picnic shelters there is a parking area. Very quiet area.
Very nice motorhome area. If it is full, there is a meadow nearby where you can set up. There is a bus every hour to Andorra la Vella until 9:15 p.m., and you can take good walks around the area.
Great place. It has everything. The climb is steep. I am not sure a motorhome can make it, but vans and tents can get up easily. We slept without any problems in absolute silence.
Please remember when arriving and departing that there is only one road to get here. It either climbs steeply for 5 km with many hairpin bends or goes steeply downhill. If you do not drive here, your engine and brakes will thank you. We were here on a Saturday; it was noisy and busy until late at night, and very crowded. Apart from us, there was not a single self-sufficient camper.
Free, spectacular views, clean chemical toilets with toilet paper. Next to a barbecue area, so there is activity until late, but nothing disturbing. There is room for some caravans, plus extra space for two or three vans. Next to trails and very peaceful! Recommended.
We found the place very good. It is free, and the chemical toilets are clean and even have toilet paper. Great starting point for hikes.
Very nice place. We were able to park there without any problem. Toilet and barbecue area. I give it five stars because the people who come to barbecue leave the place very dirty. This applies to everyone. You have to take your rubbish with you :)
Sign prohibiting motorhomes at the entrance.
Perfect place to spend the night. Six spaces that can accommodate any type of van, with an area next to them with toilets and fountains. There are only two free motorhome areas in Andorra; people should be grateful instead of criticizing.
Very cramped pitch. We did not like it at all; there is a lot of dog mess and rubbish around. We left again.
Directly at the starting point for various hikes, all steeply uphill. Barbecue areas, toilets, and rubbish bins are available; otherwise it is very basic.
Very beautifully situated place with spectacular views. Services are rather makeshift or nonexistent, hence one star deducted.
We were there during Holy Week. We parked in front of the barbecues because the designated parking area had ice and snow. The fountains were closed. A quiet place to spend the night, with barbecues, tables, and a sink.
A little noisy during the day but perfect for the night, with clean sanitary facilities, tables, and barbecues available.
Tip-top, great place, it has everything we need: nature, very good toilets, grills and fire pits. Several hiking trails. The lake farther up is also worth a visit.
As in the previous comment, we could not get there because of the ice and stayed in the barbecue parking area. It will not be usable for much longer.
Beautiful place with a beautiful view. The site itself was inaccessible because of ice, so we stayed in the adjacent parking area. We did not use the motorhome services. There is a urinal and a usable dry toilet with paper. If you walk into the forest, you can take beautiful walks, but take the uphill path. In the evening there were some local youths, but they did not bother us.
At night it was very complicated; we had to engage 4x4 mode because of the snow. Difficult to maneuver, but without snow it must be spectacular. We entered from another route that was not as steep as mentioned in previous comments.
Quiet and clean place. The table area was covered in snow, so we slept by the roadside together with two other campers.
Very good area for services. The only thing missing is electricity.
Very beautiful spot. As of today, emptying and water filling are closed.
Great place!! A lovely drive up. Despite the snow, the pitches are reasonably accessible. Keep in mind that the snow is not cleared here. If you walk back to the old chapel in the evening, you get a fantastic view over the city!
Perfect place, there is another parking area a little farther on with some extra spaces. If coming in winter, it is important to be prepared because there is snow and ice.
The area is very nice, but if it has snowed, it is practically inaccessible.
Indeed, very cold around this time of year. Temperatures here range from -3 to -10. We were not really prepared for this, so by now we are ice cubes. We had a wonderfully peaceful night, you can walk well here, and the view is magnificent!
Had a good, peaceful but cold night. It already dropped to -3. Keep that in mind or you will get very cold. You can also take a nice walk here.
We spent a quiet night here. Thanks for providing the pitches.
Very beautiful location. Fresh water can be obtained from the fountain. A water hose can be connected to the tap. The water pressure is sufficient to fill the fresh-water tank. A few bends farther up there is a beautiful reservoir and many hiking trails.
Beautiful camper place in nature with excellent facilities, although extremely cold in November, but the view makes up for everything :)
Beautiful pitch with a magnificent view. A large picnic area with a pit toilet is right next to it. Only a five-minute drive away there are two parking areas from which various hikes are possible, including a witch trail for children. We came back for a second night after our excursion. Despite the time of year, the pitches filled up quickly. We had not taken roaming costs into account.
Great spot for hiking, rubbish disposal bins and a toilet. Very clean and tidy and bbq for everyone’s use! Great for our dog.
Very nice pitch for staying overnight cheaply in Andorra. There is a barbecue area and portable toilets nearby, as well as fresh water. Perfect for one night.
The toilet has no flush. I could not find the waste disposal point. Next to the pitches there is also a parking area where another 5–8 vehicles can park.
Very quiet and somewhat remote place. The nearby barbecue areas are not bothersome. It takes about 10 minutes from the main road to reach the pitches at the top. Numerous hiking trails provide variety for mountain-bike and hiking fans.
Great pitch with a huge picnic area. Toilets, water, tables, benches and barbecue facilities, including wood, are available. Perfect!
Very nice place with many opportunities for walking. The fresh water is in an area that cannot be reached by vehicle. We parked next to the fence; with our 15-meter hose that was no problem.
Great quiet parking area in the mountains with a spring and many hiking opportunities. Completely free. Unfortunately, the toilet could not be used because it was so dirty.
