30 Rue du Pré Doulet, 18000, Bourges
Been here?
Bourges CAMPING-CAR PARK sits in the city center, 2km from historic attractions and near a cycle path. Services are available but maintenance is often lacking. The site attracts homeless individuals in evenings. Water supply is unreliable and WiFi does not work. The area charges around €14.45 per night with local tax.

The site is practical and we had a quiet night. The city, with many old half-timbered houses and the impressive cathedral, is only a few minutes’ walk away. Yes, there were a few homeless people, but they are everywhere and I have never experienced them attacking anyone!!!!Translating
Poorly maintained. The service points work, but honestly, it would be good to clean the place up; rubbish is everywhere. For the price they charge us for the night, it deserves a minimum level of respect.Translating
All services on the area are working. Very well located for visiting the city.Translating
We spent one night. Indeed, homeless people wander around in the evening… no risk for us. Very disappointed by the maintenance and the lack of water.Translating
Free spaces were just opposite this area, beside the water. They are prohibited in favor of this ordinary area. We did not feel unsafe.Translating
Only if really necessary, yes. Otherwise, very dangerous. Lots of homeless people constantly hanging around nearby.Translating
Currently here. I would say the last 2 photos are accurate. It's a pretty barren place. Looks as though they started some landscaping and gave up! The WIFI does not work. Water can only be accessed if you have the physical card. We do not have one. Keyed in our code, but this did not give us any water!!! Positive point, it's cheap and close to the centre. Plus it's quiet.
Very quiet, close to the town center; this is our third visit. Indeed, there was a derelict motorhome, which has now been removed. Rating 2 because the water supply was not working. We have a dog, which may moderate a feeling of insecurity that we did not experience. Improvement is entirely possible.Translating
Another area that used to be free is now paid, and the only additions are a barrier and electricity. Municipalities are handing management over to Camping-Car Park, and without maintenance and services this is simply a scam and an invitation not to visit these towns. We keep driving.Translating
Avoid. Badly located, bad crowd; we did not stay the night.Translating
We stayed two nights this May 1. Quiet, next to shops and close to the town center, with a cycle path for riding along the Canal de Berry. Very good, but it lacks maintenance for €14.45 per day including tourist tax.Translating
Camping-Car Park area, very good for visiting Bourges because it is less than 2 km from the historic center. Otherwise, it is true that the area is at the back of a car park, the vegetation is not great and at first glance it does not feel safe (no fence or wall around it). We stayed one night and there were no problems, so there is no need to cry wolf.Translating
Unfortunately, I have to confirm most of what previous reviewers said. It is acceptable in an emergency when passing through and there is no alternative. In addition, there is the noise from the refrigeration units of the ice rink next door.Translating
Ground full of puddles. Not secure. Only suitable for a stopover.Translating
No, really, it was quieter when it was free.Translating
Unmaintained area. You have to call assistance to enter or leave. Unacceptable, and far from the town center on foot.Translating
I must agree with the majority of the reviews about the insecure look and the growth of weeds and shabby look to the place. Which is common with almost all CCP Aires'. But our night here was very quiet and without instance. We had our EMTB on our bike rack and took extra security measures by reversing up tight to the perimeter wall.
We intended to come here today. Unfortunately, our visual impression confirms what was said before. Not enclosed, dirty, near an area… strange. Abandoned cars and a junk motorhome. I would not have entered for anything. We found a free place not far away. Bourges, which I nevertheless used to love, will not see me again. Shameful for a city that will be European Capital of Culture in 2028.Translating
Less than one star… impossible, and yet it is worth nothing. FLEE this place.Translating
AVOID. Not worthy of a Camping-Car Park. The municipality does not maintain it; apart from an entrance barrier to collect payment, nothing is fenced and everyone enters as they please. Next to a cinema and a car park where cars do drifts, two broken-down cars along the lane have not even been removed, and people hang around on the benches with beers. We did not feel safe at all.Translating
Expensive and very poor service.Translating
Level site on the edge of town: poorly maintained, many weeds, no fencing, no fresh water, noisy in the evening at the edge of the car park due to various groups. Not recommended.Translating
I had higher expectations as I had seen so many lovely looking sites online however, the only positive about this site is its reasonable proximity to the cathedral. The site itself is full of weeds, puddles and a mixture of sticky slime and gravel. The whole area looks like a work in progress at best, a semi-transformed then abandoned piece of waste land. Lots of shouting noise at night.
Camping-Car Park has become a money pump. Avoid.
We wanted to enter for the night. The advertised price for one night with a van was €14. But you have to add the tourist tax plus a card that must be topped up—mandatory!! That brings it to €20. That is the price of campsites on the Opal Coast. We turned around. €20 to park in a terrible parking lot—that is what I call a scam. Avoid urgently.
No water today. Camping-Car Park knows there is no water, yet lets people enter for more than €14 without water. AVOID. The comments have said there has been no water since September 6. Money, money, money.
As expected, since Camping-Car Park took over, height bars and prohibitions in the parking area along the canal have appeared. Sunday afternoon, September 6: only six vehicles in this horrible parking area, which has become paid! Bourges, European Capital of Culture, has managed to drive away the motorhome tourists who were previously very numerous before CCP’s monopoly!
What a shame! No water.
Well located, but expensive just to park and connect to electricity. No toilets and no free water. You can see it is only intended to make money.
€15 for a site, while the Bourges campsite costs €17 including tax, with dogs free.
