Clogherhead
Been here?
This is a small harbour parking area overlooking a fishing port, with space for up to 3 campers. It is usually quiet and offers seal watching, a coastal walk and a nearby fishmonger. Toilets are available nearby but are only moderately clean, and occasional early-morning fishing activity can create noise.

Lovely view of the small fishing harbor. The seals were indeed there. We preferred to settle on the pier along the wall. The fishermen I asked said there was no problem.
Small little spot, maximum 3 campers. Very quiet and nice place.
We saw the seals. Magnificent.
Quiet night, woke up to seals, very fresh fish shop, toilets available but only moderately clean, beautiful walk along the coast.
Lovely spot, with a very cold sea breeze. Toilet nearby; it wasn’t the cleanest, but it was okay. A few loud cars at 11 p.m., but otherwise quiet. Bins nearby.
There is no parking at the harbor from 9 August 2023 due to maintenance work. The car park has a 2.1 m height barrier.
We slept on the wall side, directly on the quay near the boats. We saw seals. The fishermen are friendly. The fish shop is reasonably priced and delicious! The only downside was engine noise, like a machine humming, during the night, and the workers start early in the morning. Otherwise, it was very good.
Great location to seal watch and swim. We parked out of the way beside the slipway, bit sloping but fine. Recommend buying sea bass or other fish from Gerry in the fishmongers beside the fish n chip van, excellent fresh fish. Lovely headland walk with great views. Toilets were open in early September.
