Brennfjell Camping

Beautiful scenery and hot water but everything else was old, broken, disgusting or even dangerous. Bought private sauna and it was almost like a bad joke. Full danger hazard installations or lack of them.

The location is beautiful, but the condition of the facilities and sanitary installations is rather neglected.

Beautiful place, and we got a parking spot even though we arrived quite late on a midsummer weekend! The owner was very nice and welcoming. We even bought one hour of sauna time. The sauna was great, and we swam in the river too—it was very refreshing.

The one star is for the reasonably clean toilets. The welcome was friendly, but the building itself already looks neglected. This continues throughout the site. There is camping junk, empty canisters, old boards, fuel cans, and so on. Washrooms have chipped tiles, dust, and broken toilet seats, taps, flushes, etc. Neglected and not worth the money. We paid 400 NOK—far too much!

A few mosquitoes down by the river. Showers included in the price—200 NOK for two people and a car. Showers and toilets were a little dirty in the evening, but spotlessly clean in the morning. Small kitchen with washing-up facilities. Very nice man at reception with a sweet dog.

Super idyllic, by a river between high mountains. Lots of space and peace. Also inexpensive cabins with wood-burning stoves and electric heating, two hotplates, dishes, and a refrigerator. Sanitary facilities and kitchen very clean and apparently recently renovated. Many seasonal campers, but because the site stretches along the riverbank, there is still enough space with electrical hookups. Very nice owner!

A marked circular walk over the Brennfjell peaks starts from the campsite; follow the brown, formerly red, paint markings. About one hour uphill and 30 minutes back down. The summit offers a beautiful view over the entire valley and is well worth it!
