Beach parking, barrier access varies

This is the parking lot at Stroove Beach. We arrived around 4 pm and able to get a spot for 6 m van. Lot was busy until sunset (very sunny day) then about 6 vans stayed the night. Windy at night, some slope but fine for one night. Coffee cart open in the morning. Barriers were up, no signs of overnight restrictions. There’s a QR code to read about Donegal ‘camping code’ but no fees mentioned.

We arrived late, after 10 p.m., and the barrier was open. Only one other van was parked, so we easily found a spot. It was on a slight slope, but nothing major. We walked to the little beach, and it was lovely.

Barrier not in place. Plenty of spaces. Drinking water. Access to beach where you can swim. Dogs not allowed June-September. No rubbish bins.

The barrier was down. Lovely beach and lighthouse. Sloped car park. Reasonably busy with locals visiting the beach on a sunny day but peaceful. The only sad thing is the amount of rubbish that people have been leaving behind. The council do not provide bins there (why I cant fathom) and instead their signs urge people to take their rubbush home. That is clearly too much to ask of some.

The 2 m barrier is still open for now. Quiet night. Some walkers, but no noise.

Quiet, spacious place with drinking water, a mobile sauna charging €20 for 45 minutes, a beach suitable for swimming, and an 8 km hiking route. We stayed two nights; it was very quiet and safe. Recommended.

Good over night stop, is toilets on site but anytime I visit these are clogged up! Nice beach below the car park. Very busy through the day with cars and walkers but nice and quiet come night time. Nice homemade food in cozy cottage in Moville which is back threw Greencastle just a ten minute drive away.

Convenient and quiet spot just after the lighthouse. A few nearly level spaces, portable toilets, water point, and a lovely little beach. Quiet even on a Saturday evening in September. Note: several comments about the small parking area farther away, with two sloping spaces, actually refer to this one.

Parking above the beach, very busy on weekends and level only at the upper end. There are two toilets, which were completely clogged. There is a drinking-water tap. Quiet at night. Fine for one night while passing through.

Parking with the height barriers currently open. Freshwater tap and sauna toilets. We saw a group of seals on the rocks at the beach to the left.

Great place to visits day or overnight and free. Great beach, tap water, picnic benches, portable loos too.

Nice place beside a great beach with swimming. Quiet stay. No bins or toilets. Running water tap though. Previous campers left rubbish and dog poo bags about. Dunes have wipes everywhere !

Nice spot, lovely beach. Freshwater tap, nothing else. We stayed only for lunch. The advertised hilltop walk nearby does not allow dogs; the beach does.

Beautiful large place to spend the night, sheltered from the wind, with direct access to the sea and drinking water. We stayed one night in our motorhome and slept peacefully.

Absolutely wonderful park up. Stunning little beach that is perfect for a swim. Lots of cars coming and going until evening, but everyone is friendly. We walked the loop head with our dog in the morning, no problem at all, just kept her on a leash.
