Zum Wildpark 3A, 59519, Möhnesee
Been here?
This spacious and clean motorhome parking area has many rubbish bins, shaded spaces and nearby hiking trails. A good restaurant is 250 meters away, while a bathing beach with a bar is about 30 minutes on foot. The fee is 15€ for 24 hours, including water and waste disposal, but there is no electricity or toilet. Occasional neighbouring events can be extremely loud until 2 Uhr nachts, and the automatic monitoring system has been reported as unreliable.

Young marksmen’s festival right next door on July 25, 2026. Very loud. People walking between the motorhomes. There was no information that the festival would take place there, and it continued until 2 a.m. I politely asked visitors whether the party would continue there. I was told it was a traditional cultural event, with no other explanation. The festival is July 31–August 2, 2026, so it will be even louder?!?Translating
€15 for the shouting of drunks... Beer tasting for the marksmen’s festival on the neighboring grounds... Then put up a sign saying that it will be loud on these dates. When I arrived, it was still quiet.Translating
Simple, clean campsite in a quiet location. There are shaded spaces. Great. The beach with a bar is about a 30-minute walk away. Tip: free entry to the beach after 7 p.m.; there is an outdoor shower there, suitable for rinsing off but not for properly washing.Translating
We had a very nice time there. Although the site was packed full, it was quiet and relaxed! The municipal enforcement office is visibly present. The restaurant has a small menu and a wonderful outdoor seating area. Yes, €15 is a lot just for parking, including service facilities, but it does ensure peace and quiet. Better keep the parking ticket in case problems arise after six weeks.Translating
Warning! The automatic monitoring system does not seem to work reliably. I stayed there for one night and paid the €15 daily fee on arrival. Six weeks later I received a letter from Parkraum Service GmbH demanding €61.20. The letter also threatened collection proceedings if I did not comply.Translating
Very pleasant place, with pleasant fellow campers. Cars using the site to turn around sometimes drive quite fast. Some local dog owners let their dogs run off-leash between the motorhomes. Problems with warnings from the parking monitoring system were kindly resolved by the nice woman at the tourist office.Translating
We have been coming here occasionally since 2017. It got fuller every year and many people behaved badly. Now that it costs money, it is quiet again and the guests are much more pleasant. €15 is not cheap for almost nothing besides waste disposal...Translating
I also know the site from when it was free. In recent years there was often an unpleasant crowd here: days-long drinking parties and loud music. Hopefully license-plate recognition and payment will calm things down. €15 for 24 hours is not cheap, but the system works, and waste disposal and water are included.Translating
€15 for a parking lot in the middle of nowhere. No electricity, no toilet, but service facilities are available.Translating
I remember when the parking lot was free, and was astonished when €10 was suddenly charged just for parking. But now €15 simply because service facilities are included seems outrageous. The site is beautiful in nature, but otherwise there is nothing.Translating
Nice motorhome site, very quiet. Dogs are allowed, and it is right next to a dog-training school, so that can be a little bothersome. Unfortunately, there are no sanitary facilities.Translating
Very quiet location when the dog park is not training. You can take beautiful bike rides toward Lake Möhnesee.Translating
The site is currently being newly developed. Very quiet, completely flat and level. Waste disposal was still being installed. Everything will be provided, including cassette and gray-water disposal; the area was still drying. Water was not yet available. Parking fees unclear—there was no machine on our weekend. The wildlife park and reservoir are easily reachable on foot.Translating
A strange payment system for a motorhome parking area that could actually be an ideal starting point for day hikes. What a shame.Translating
The location is absolutely quiet and idyllic. Directly beside the nature reserve, excellent for hiking, cycling, and walking dogs. What bothered me a little was the complete lack of lighting at the site. The pricing is debatable. €10 one way or the other, but then limiting it until noon? Surely this could be made a little more convenient.Translating
Very quiet location, clean.Translating
Very quiet place, slept really well! Good to park on and easy road to get to. Absolutely ‘empfehlenswert’!
I still like it here very much. €10 is quite expensive for a parking lot, but waste disposal is apparently going to be added (the other way around would make more sense). The pricing is somewhat dubious: parking tickets are required only from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., yet motorhomes are sometimes ticketed as early as 8 a.m. However, it is apparently okay to buy a regular car parking ticket during the day.Translating
If you are well equipped and like nature and peace, this is exactly the right place. There are many hiking and cycling trails all around. In front of the parking lot is a restaurant with a large selection of dishes; you can also order rolls for the next day, including via a QR code on the parking sign. Sanitary facilities and disposal options are supposed to be added! The timing is still unknown!Translating
Unfortunately, it now costs money... For what is little or nothing, €10 is too much... I left immediately.Translating
The site is quite nicely located; despite the lack of infrastructure, we would have paid €10 for it. BUT: The €10 only lasts until noon the following day, not for 24 hours. Anyone staying longer pays another €10, even if it is only for a few hours. Goodbye, we left again immediately.Translating
The mayor has met the quota by 187%, so everything was done correctly. €10 must serve a purpose. I was as delighted as a television when I saw the parking meters. Television reception is very good at the site.
From one day to the next, €10 for nothing. No thanks, there are nicer places. No service facilities, no shopping, no electricity. Never again for me. That’s it.
€10 for a place without any service is outrageous. What a shame. That is the end of our visits to Lake Möhnesee.
A few years ago we were still here with our cats. Now the trees are gone because of beetles, and you have to pay. Back then there were on average six campers and some cars belonging to dog walkers. You would meet those same people on the terrace. Now there was one motorhome, and we left too because the daily rate is €6 and you get zero facilities. Fortunately, we still have the videos of the cats roaming free.
€10 for absolutely nothing! Outrageous! We used to come here often and spend our money in the surrounding restaurants because the site was free. Everywhere the municipal authorities are charging people! At some point we will have to pay money just to breathe! There are other lakes too!
10 euros—the municipality is crazy. That’s laughable.
