Maltepe Karavan Park

We stayed for four nights. The campsite, toilets, bathrooms, and recreation areas were spotlessly clean and orderly. Even though it was summer and the weekend, most areas were empty. The electrical outlets are blue, three-pin CEE-standard 16-amp sockets (2P+E); there are no alternative outlets. Since it is right beside the coastal road, road noise never stops, 24 hours a day. We paid 1,500 TL per night.

The site was completely renovated in 2024. The price depends on your pitch. Toilets, showers, kitchen, and laundry facilities. Everything is very clean. Access to the Marmaray, with Istanbul 45 minutes away, is directly opposite. The only disadvantage is the boulevard noise. We paid €27 per day. No cash; payment on site is by card only. Online booking is mandatory but very easy.

While municipalities across Turkey compete to build free caravan camping areas, they are trying to drive campers away from Istanbul with their exorbitant pricing policy. The pitches are unnecessarily large and extremely expensive; within 10 metres, you can get the same service from another company of the municipality for a quarter of the price.

Very good and recent facilities. Four stars because the black-water disposal point has no water for rinsing the cassette. To dispose of grey water, we have to connect a hose, which is incompatible with some tanks. The campsite is located in a huge green park in Istanbul, a city of several million inhabitants, so noise is normal. Public transport nearby.

The noise from discos is annoying, sometimes continuing well past midnight. We stayed for four nights and wanted to extend by one more day, which would have been a Friday. The staff told me I had to make a new booking on the website because they supposedly could not access the booking system themselves. Connections to public transport with an Istanbulkart are really good.

Very expensive; it does not suit Istanbul Municipality at all. Why are the pitches rented monthly? Have the managers never read about what a caravan campsite should be like?

We tried several times to make a reservation through their website, but it did not work. We went there anyway, and the camper area turned out to be almost empty. A friendly man told us that you could only enter with a reservation. We showed on site that booking through their website was impossible, but that did not matter; you could only enter with a reservation????? So save yourself the trip!

Super campsite! Brand new, clean, excellent sanitary facilities. Washing machines and dryers. Beautiful pitches. Great location. Wonderful for walking the dog. The site is fenced and monitored. Close to the metro. Friendly welcome.
