This quiet, flat, free parking area near Passo Giau is surrounded by nature but only a few metres from the busy main road. It accommodates around 8–12 vans and is accessible for large 2WD campervans. The site is at 2090 m above sea level, with nearby hiking routes including Rifugio Averau at 2560 m. Arriving late makes it harder to find a space, and some litter and human waste have been reported nearby.

Beautiful, peaceful pitch slightly away from the road and an ideal starting point for hikes. However, the later you arrive, the harder it is to find a free space. Unfortunately, a few people relieve themselves in the surrounding area, sometimes even directly on the paths. This detracts from the otherwise positive overall impression.Translating

This mid-sized open space accommodates a few mid-sized vehicles comfortably. One may hike to Rifugio Averau and from there to Cinque Torri or to Rifugio Nuvolau at 2560 m above sea level with amazing views, or to both on the same day. Quiet nights, cool during the heat wave (at 2090 m a.s.l.). The only snag is the constant motorcycle noise from the road during the day.
Amazing spot to visit the Giau pass. Quiet night on flat gravel. I enjoyed my stay for 2 nights.
