Showers cost money (400 kr for 3 minutes). Tokens or kroner can be bought from the machine in front of the shower; unfortunately, we only had 300 kr in the bag! There is only one shower, which is clearly too few. Toilets and kitchen are okay. The pitches are unfortunately very uneven. There is a washing machine (for a fee) and a few clothes-drying racks.

Great campsite; the only downside is that electricity is available only from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 the next morning.

The setting is magnificent and perfectly maintained. The sanitary facilities are very clean and cleaned very regularly, which is particularly appreciated. The welcome was very friendly and check-in was quick. The kitchen area is admittedly quite small, but it has everything needed to prepare meals comfortably. A very good place that we recommend!

Campsite next to the parking area where the trail to see the canyon begins. Grass pitch without marked spaces. Payment is made to the woman who runs the food truck. One major drawback: the sanitary facilities are used by all the many visitors to the canyon—no need to explain further! You pay enough to have access to services reserved for campers.

Simple campsite with everything you need, directly on the Stuðlagil Canyon trail on the west side. The parking fee is waived if you stay at the campsite. An employee came around 5:30 p.m. to collect payment.

The kitchen is now covered, heated, and has a door. We found the site okay. One star deducted because the toilets were extremely dirty during our stay. This cannot really be avoided, since canyon visitors use them as well. The shower costs extra but was very clean and hot. There is a toilet-disposal facility, but nothing for grey water.

The campsite is open, but the CampingCard is not accepted until May 1. Electricity costs 1,600 ISK. Camping for one person costs 2,400 ISK plus 400 ISK tax. There is still no hot water in the kitchen, but there is hot water by the toilets. Showers cost 400 ISK because the ice-cold water is heated by a boiler, according to the manager.

Zero privacy, very windy and expensive (5,000 for two people without electricity). Toilets were clean and plentiful, big kitchen area, nice view.

Interesting terrain because it is immediately next to the canyon and elevated. Lots of space and fairly few people. Very decent, well-built, recent facilities. Pleasant but semi-open dining room, functional Wi-Fi.

Accepts the CampingCard (don't pay online or at machine, but pay tax either at food truck or to ladies who walk around the site in evening). Very large, well-frequented site. Direct access to the viewing platforms at the canyon, which are currently being extended. It's nice to see how the money is being reinvested here. Unfortunately quite poor mobile phone reception.

New modern campsite on grass with level pitches. Anyone with a CampingCard does not need to check in at the machine. Someone comes by at some point in the evening.

We were here with our motorhome. The approximately 20 km access road from Route 1 is being renovated. The first half has already been newly asphalted; the second half is still gravel, but quite firm and manageable. Contrary to some comments here, we have nothing to criticize about the campsite. Super clean, toilets freely usable, payment at the machine without any problems, new benches and tables.

Okay for one night. Large lawn where you can find a level spot. Kitchen is just a covered area between containers. Value for money is borderline.

But 400 ISK for a 3-minute shower is outrageous, and impossible for long hair! Only the kitchen sink has hot water, not the two outside. CampingCard accepted.

Good sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, from the site you can only reach Stuðlagil Canyon via a staircase; anyone who wants to go all the way down has to drive to the official parking area on the other side and then return to the campsite—at least that is what most people do. We also had a breakdown and received fantastic help: a local provided us with tools and assistance!

Nice, clean campsite. Beware: showers cost 400 ISK for 3 minutes. As soon as you insert the coins, the time starts counting down. It is excessive, since in all campsites it is at least 5 minutes.

Practical self-check-in, reasonable price, no electricity. The toilets were freely accessible when we were there; there is no longer a QR code because the parking area next door has become paid. Paid showers.

Expensive and does not include showers, but a beautiful place of course. Don't park here to see the canyon, it's not as scenic as the parking on the other side.
