3245, Recsk
Been here?
A free, shaded and mostly quiet parking area at the Recsk memorial site, suitable for one night but not a camping-style stay. The ground is flat, with a maintained field nearby, rubbish bins, and a washroom. A small lake about 100 meters away brings frogs and night birds. The museum opens at 9.00 and closes at 16.30.

We think it is perfectly acceptable to spend the night in the parking lot of a memorial site, although it is not cozy camping. It was also fine with the staff. Much more important is visiting the memorial before or after staying overnight.
Spent a night here, it was wonderful. We did an 8 km tour around the place, and stayed for the night. It was fully abandoned, nobody came. There is a small lake about 100 meters from the parking lot, with frogs singing all night, and night birds. Wonderful place to stay. There is a wooden old style toilet also, where we poured our toilets content to.
Very beautiful place, lots of trees and a quiet little field.
This is the parking lot of a memorial site: the memorial site of a former forced-labor camp for political opponents of the Communist regime. The place is important and very interesting, but for me it is not a suitable camping spot. Spending the night here and making oneself comfortable feels very inappropriate.
It is the parking lot of a museum that closes at 4:30 p.m. and opens at 9:00 a.m. The site is quiet and shaded. The area is flat, with a well-maintained field next to it where you can stretch out. Good for spending one night. There are also rubbish bins and a sink.
