Laivu iel, 1004, Rīga
Been here?
A free riverside parking area near Riga with a swimming place, children’s playground, cafés in summer and views across the water. The surface has many potholes and can be sloping, while access to public transport and cycle routes is inconvenient. Evenings may feel unsettled because of nearby young people. Cars with running engines sometimes arrive in the morning.

Spent a quiet night, completely free, although the car park has many potholes. Cars with their engines running often arrive in the morning. We were also able to connect our generator; nobody there minds. Safe as well!Translating
Centrally located, but in the evening it does not make a good impression because of the many teenagers.Translating
Sloping car park, full of potholes and puddles, inconvenient for public transport. The cycle path is available but sporadic and discontinuous—in all honesty, a mess. Inconvenient for the centre.Translating
Lovely environment, and the cycle from here to the central market near the old town takes you across two bridges and along the river on dedicated cycle tracks away from the cars. The little beach is very close, and I had a lovely swim in the tannin water. At least, I hope it was tannin.
Large car park, also suitable for larger motorhomes. Very dusty when dry and extremely busy at weekends. Constant coming and going, even at 10 p.m. It became too much for us, so we quickly drove out of the city. Ideal starting point for visiting the city—about 4 km to the centre.Translating
On weekends there may be no space during the day. There are toilets but no water. There is a place for walks and a beach nearby. You can swim. It is quiet at night, but not always. Flat surface. A supermarket is nearby and the centre is not far away.Translating
28/09/23. Very large car park, great for the day (and probably the night), with an XXL children's playground!Translating
Parking spaces on gravel. Four fairly clean portable toilets, several swimming spots on the Daugava, and many play and sports facilities in the well-maintained park. The road noise is audible but did not bother us. It is a big city, after all. By bicycle it takes about 10 minutes to the central market. There are swimmers and walkers all day. We felt safe here.Translating
Emergency spot near Riga. We arrived there in the evening after an evening in the capital. However, the noise from the expressway remains very noticeable!Translating
Quite good for staying one night. Four portable toilets and a beach nearby. Waste sorting as well. On the other side of the bridge there is a good view of the city.Translating
We spent two nights there. Also four toilets available, but not enough toilet paper.
Car park full at 9 p.m. Impossible to stop there. We continued on our way. Note the condition of the roads leading there—they are badly damaged.Translating
Great spot in a park. Portable toilets available. Bus stop nearby.Translating
