Paid lakeside parking, quiet nights

Beautiful location, but the parking fee of 24 CHF per 24 hours without any services is completely exorbitant.

Top location by the lake and nice little town. Small pitches, but chairs can also be taken onto the large lawn. Level areas, but not entirely quiet at night, at least on the weekend. Unfortunately not very cheap as the night now also costs 1 franc per hour.

Actually one of my favorite places in Switzerland. But even as a Swiss person I have to say, I find the price increase way too steep and a real shame! I used to come here a few times every year and always left good money in the restaurants / bars of the old town or by the lake. But for 24.- for 24h, you can also find campsites. Hopefully this will be adjusted again. Thanks to the municipality anyway.

Practical parking lot for an overnight stay close to the lake.

It's a really good place to spend 24 hours, but very expensive for what it is ie no services. The water in the lake is not clear any more, and swimming apparently is banned because because of toxic algea.

Great motorhome pitch, in the lower area still free from 7 PM to 8 AM, but height-restricted to 2.20m. We weren't sure at first whether staying overnight was also allowed in the lower area. ChatGPT confirmed this for us. Then a shock in the morning when the police suddenly appeared. But no problem, they just emptied the parking meter and then drove off, greeting us friendly.

New: parking can no longer be done for free at night. The top row is now called "Pantschau Rampe" and is reserved for motorhomes. The parking duration is unlimited and costs Fr. 1.00/hour 24/7. We enjoy this place every time and feel comfortable on the shores of Lake Murten. Since the new parking management, it has become significantly quieter and more spaces are free.

Perfect!! Only the information is incorrect. You have to pay 24/7. For 21€ still relatively cheap to spend the night!

Perfect spot. Right next to the lake. Magnificent sunset. Row of motorhomes. We arrived around 7 PM and grabbed the last spot. You also have to pay for the night. Simple with Parkingpay.

Great spot to spend the night and day! Quiet at night and free from 8 PM to 8 AM. After that 1 CHF / hour. It is well arranged and there are very clean toilets. Possibility to cycle, stand-up paddle, pedalo or swim. And on top of that, next to the town center.

I parked at the bottom (max 2.2m). It's free at night, until 8 AM, then 1€/h. The bottom spaces are wide, horizontal. The toilets are equipped, water, paper, soap. Quiet all night. In the morning a few fishermen and runners park but it is quiet. Nice view of the lake. It's a favorite.

Nice parking lot a few meters from the lake. From mid-July 2025 you pay 1 CHF per hour during all 24 hours. Possibility to pay also with the ParkingPay app. A bit noisy due to the adjacent road.

Whenever I am back in Switzerland, I stop by here for at least 1 night. Cool spot, right by the lake and a short walk to the beautiful town as well as a toilet.

it is a parking lot without any services but in a very, very nice place with the lake right in front where you can swim and go for a walk, and a stone's throw from the town, which is beautiful, walking distance there is also a beach bar next door that said, at least now in July, you have to pay 24 hours, at 1 Franc per hour (accepts euros and you can also download the application)

The parking lot, which is free at night, has a height restriction of 2 meters. The upper parking row, which has no height restriction, costs 1 CHF per hour around the clock. There are better parking lots in Murten without height restrictions that are free at night.

Great for one night as a stopover. Very idyllic, everything clean and you can go swimming directly there. We parked in the lower parking lot.

Wonderful parking lot by the lake. You park directly on the left parallel to the lake and have a sensational view. Free at night. During the day 1€ per hour. Motorhome 7.50m no problem. Camping behavior is not desired, but with a picnic blanket on the lakeshore it's much nicer anyway. Public toilets right by the parking lot and open all night. Thank you city of Murten, simply great!

thank you the city for this very well located park. economical tip for parking go to the city website register your vehicle license plate daily parking card yellow zone at 8fr per day indicate the number of days etc. on advice of the municipal police. twint or cards. ideal place for the lights festival!

Absolute favorite place. And quiet, despite the location on the street Great view, close to the old town, shopping, swimming. Toilets in the immediate vicinity.

We spent the night of October 17, 2024. the parking has a height limit, but there is an area that allows parking for campers and caravans. It is next to clean public restrooms, the garden and the lake and is close to the city. A recommended parking lot to visit the city or spend the night. You can park for a maximum of 15 hours and it is free at night.

Fantastic location right by the lake, offering a peaceful and safe overnight stay. The site allows a maximum stay of 15 hours, with payment required daily between 08:00 and 19:00. There are a few larger spots available for bigger camper vans; my 7m Laika fit comfortably. Be aware that only one parking lane is suitable for taller vehicles, as the rest of the site is limited to a 2.2m height. I stayed one night and found it very quiet, with a strong sense of security. Highly recommended for a short, tranquil stop.

Great place for motorhomes up to 7.4m. Many thanks to the city of Murten. The place is free at night 19:00-08:00, then 1.- per hour - so ideal to visit the beautiful old town with many good, nice restaurants. Philipp
