Unnamed Road, SY11, Oswestry
Been here?
A quiet gravel car park beside the canal, with no charges and no facilities apart from recycling bins. It is generally peaceful, with occasional dog walkers, boaters’ cars and very little passing traffic. Access over the steep humpback bridge can cause vehicles to ground, so approach from the other direction and avoid parking by the concealed gate.

It was a great spot, nice and quiet I had a lovely night's sleep and would stop there again.
Lovely spot tucked out of the way. Bridge is definitely a hump back, quite steep and you can see where vehicles have grounded. Our Sat Nav brought us the other way so no bridge to cross, phew! Quiet, no facilities. Did not use bins as CRT and pretty full. No other vans and only saw 1 car drive past all night. Would use again.
Great place but be aware the rubbish facilities are CRT and abuse of them will result in parking restrictions, I’m full time un a van and this place has been a gem, please dont overcrowd it or park by the gate
Great spot!! My LWB van only JUST got over the bridge, so it’s worth going a few miles out of your way to enter from the other direction. Check on maps. Note: don’t park on the far right as it’s a gate concealed into the barrier. I was knocked on by a canal and riverside trust volunteer who asked me to move, which was when I realised it was a gate. They also have rubbish and recycling facilities.
Lovely small quiet carpark. Very Tranquil. No services. Shared with a stealth camper. Lovely walks on the tow path & narrow lane. Emptied my bin & recyclables & filled up my water bottles. Lovely starry night. We will return if on route *_*
Very quiet spot with occasional dog walkers and boaters' cars. About 200 meters along to the right on the towpath there are fresh water taps and a little further is a small brick building with an elsan point. They can only be reached on foot and you will need a Canal & Rivers Trust key for the elsan point.
Lovely peaceful spot. A few parked cars for the narrow boats, but very quiet.
Lockgate Bridge Picnic Ground Lower Frankton. Quiet gravel carpark. No charges. No facilities apart from recycling bins!! As stated it's just before a very steep humpback canal bridge so definitely approach from the south. Long, very quiet single track road in. Small carpark generally flat, a few pot holes. Need to be self sufficient nothing but beautiful canal walks around.
It’s a nice spot to stop at, but don’t even try approaching from the A495 end, best use the Tetchill to Felton road because the bridge is a hump back on steroids, it’s blind and dangerous to go over even in a small car. Note the Tetchill to Felton road is also notorious for being extremely uneven in places especially on the deceptive long straight so drive carefully.
